Cannot get through to them

I have been with this practice for 27 years, I just cannot get through on the phones, I am forced to use Econsult and then by 8.15am they turn it off!! It says that it has reached capacity try again tomorrow. Access is very difficult at this surgery.

They are busy

Its a busy practice and have to wait at times but I've always had appointments and home visits when needed. I mainly see the nurse practitioner, they are friendly and approachable and really listen and will always bring in the GP if needed. I do find seeing different members of staff with my longer term condition more difficult but you can't blame the surgery they are very busy.

Accommodating and helpful

Mostly have phone calls but they haven't really addressed the issues. Reception staff are accommodating and helpful and I've had good experiences with the paramedic when they quickly arranged for a referral to hospital. I called recently to arrange my yearly MOT and didn't have to wait long for it and arranged for bloods to be taken at the same time.

Little consistency

I've had little consistency with an ongoing issue that does cause problems but they do try and I've had appointments whenever needed which is the main thing.

Great staff

The staff are great and due to my difficulties using the phone I'm allowed to come in to the surgery to arrange appointments as I can't use the phone.

Long waits

There are regularly long waits of an hour at a time to get through to the surgery and this can cost a lot when calling regularly. They won't allow you to come in to the surgery to arrange appointments which would be much easier. Staff are good , as is the care they provide but it would be better if you saw the same doctor each time as they don't have time to look at my notes and the different conditions I have. Then different doctors start changing long term medications which then have knock on effects.

Delays

The pharmacy and the surgery blame each other for any delays with medications but that doesn't sort the issues out.

Good staff

I don't need to use the surgery much and have been invited in for a review by text and then arranged an appointment to see the nurse. Staff have been good when I've seen them, it all works well.

Pretty good

The surgery is pretty good and I've been well looked after. The phones are busy but when I've needed an appointment I've been able to get them. I do feel that being seen by a doctor is preferable as they can see how you actually are. Since last February I've had very good care and referrals have been made very quickly.

Children seen quickly

I like the surgery, I've have never had any issues when I've called first thing and the children get seen quickly. They provide a proactive approach and rearranged an appointment with in 5 minutes of me cancelling. Econsult is usually turned of quite early in the morning and the phones are busy, which can be frustrating at times but it is completely understandable, they're busy.
