Access with tinitus

December 8, 2023
I rang the surgery about something medication related, and I wanted a face to face appointment as I struggle with my ears. They got me a GP appointment on the same day and the GP said 'why have you come in here, I could have dealt with you on the telephone.' I had explained to reception about my hearing and they could not have noted it, or the GP had not read it, or did not care. It was an awful way to talk to me. I do not want to see them again!

Quick referral

December 8, 2023
I saw the Nurse here who referred me with a skin issue. This was dealt with promptly and the Nurse was really kind. She did not hesitate to do the referral.

Really helped me

After coming in for blood tests, I was feeling unwell and I feel this is related to the amount of medication I am on. I was kindly seen by a clinician at short notice, with no appointment. Very kind and caring.

Busy, yet empty

October 12, 2023
It is disconcerting to be walking into a surgery that is claiming to be so busy (as are most), yet it is so much more empty than it ever has been. It just does not give you a good impression as a patient.

Good service here

October 12, 2023
You get a call back reasonably quickly after you have rung in. I do not mind that as understand not everyone needs to be seen face to face. I find it is a good service here. There is a good link with the hospital and due some tests around getting a cardio monitor. The 'out of hours' appointment I had stated I needed blood tests, but they took 10 days to organise, which is ok I guess, but has held up results for the issues I have.

Not thorough

October 12, 2023
It's no good, these GP's just ringing you back and dishing out medication without seeing you. I have been in so much pain for quite a long time and I am in today all 'woozy'. They are taking my bloods today, but not sure I am well enough for that.

Ring back seems silly to me

October 12, 2023
Getting a 'phone call back from a GP to then decide to get me in face to face, as is the case most of the time seems silly to me.

Initially fobbed off

October 12, 2023
Overall the surgery is mixed for me. I felt that I have been fobbed off for some time by the GP here, when I felt I had the start of Dementia. However, it now has been identified and so turned out to be the case. I have therefore lost the trust in that particular person. When I rang today I was told to come in straight away and I am in to see the Nurse who can help me with my issue.

Don't like triage call

October 12, 2023
I do not like that you have to wait for a ring back from the GP to triage you rather than just see you. There are things that can be missed by talking and not 'seeing' you. As you do not know when they are ringing, you also may not have all your thoughts together.

Continued care for cancer

October 12, 2023
Always found them to be an excellent service, since two lots of cancer. I have continued checks locally here at the surgery, including timely blood tests. These are linked well to the oncologist at the hospital in Ipswich, which makes me feel they are communicating well and puts mind at rest.
