West Suffolk Hospital

I would like to say how thankful I am to (name removed) & her team. I saw her throughout my pregnancy & also after giving birth. The service that she provides is priceless! I would have really struggled had I not had her support & guidance. For anyone with mental health issues, it’s reassuring to know that this service is available along side seeing the community midwives.

I was advised by my GP to attend WSH A&E. Despite the waiting room being crowded I was seen by a most efficient Triage nurse within 20 minutes after which a Phlebotomist took blood and inserted Canula within another 10 mins. I was seen by Practitioner Nurse within 90 mins of arrival. All staff were impressive, professional and efficient. I was given an appt to attend DVT clinic at 9.15 the following day and again the service was amazing. I was assessed by two nurses almost immediately then shortly after had ultra sound scan. On arrival I had been told it would be 2 to 3 hours before being seen by Consultant so was given the opportunity to visit canteen then indeed was seen as predicted. Again all staff were most impressive and surroundings airy, scrupulously clean and pleasant. Within 25 hours of visiting my GP I had a diagnosis and treatment. I regard that as excellent service and indeed better than much Private treatment experienced previously. It was very disappointing to hear other patients complaining about waiting times which were certainly not excessive.

My appointment was for 3pm and I waited until 4pm. I could see other patients going in to see the doctor and people who had arrived after me were going in. I complained at the reception and also complained to the doctor on duty. Who said that I was being rude by complaining about his appointment delays.. A very upsetting time so a poor review

Scan wasn’t booked in properly so I turned up and was told I wasn’t on the system. Induction wasn’t booked in properly so I had to call on the day to be told it wasn’t in the diary and that my notes do say I was booked in. Delivered baby on ward f11 not labour suit because the midwife told me I wasn’t in active labour and didn’t believe me when I told her my waters had broken. Baby wasn’t given ankle name tags until I requested them 4hrs after he was born.

I had a stroke and the care both inpatient and subsequently was excellent. A great team.

There are so many people it is like a conveyor belt, last time I waited hours in the clinic, I also did not feel the advice given to me last time was good enough for my need as I was in so much pain.

I am treated kindly here and the staff are excellent, making and keeping appointments very good, If I am kept waiting they always keep me well informed, I have excellent experience in this department.

Service from the staff in the eye department is excellent, you cannot fault anything. Excellent treatment. I had an injection last time in my eye and I was dreading it but I didn't feel a thing, the attitude of the person doing the treatment helped me to remain calm.

Excellent first class service. Staff could not be more helpful, they are so polite. If I am kept waiting they always keep me informed, the treatment is excellent. Admin is good, they keep me well informed about my appointments, they always seem to be busy here. Car park used to be free for blue badge holders at the hospital but no more.

The staff in this department are very kind. All goes well and they make a phone call and send a letter to confirm appointments.
