Staff are all brilliant
Ear Nose and Throat
February 22, 2019
Sent to A&E by GP. Expected to wait, but was soon seen by friendly triage. Seen by junior doctor who was very good, who then arranged and saw me for follow-up. Staff are all brilliant, some of hospital is looking tired. ENT room was originally private room in Ward F4 - was there no room for this in the main ENT department?
Very quick, very professional

Making the appointment was really easy online, I arrived 10 minutes early and was seen 10 minutes early. Very quick very professional.
All very good

I was in hospital for a short stay which was all very good. When it came to discharge it went smoothly and staff checked I would have enough support at home.
Quick MRI arranged
February 11, 2019
Only taken about 3 weeks for an MRI to be arranged. I was surprised it will take place on sunday but this makes getting there easier. I'm hoping the follow up with the consultant will be quick too.
Amazing staff on wards
February 11, 2019
I was unexpectedly sent to hospital by my doctor and ended up staying for a while. The staff were amazing on each of the wards I stayed on during my time there. The food was very good, very good considering its not a hotel. Even when I was waiting for a bed the nurses kept us informed and made sure we had drinks and something to eat. A very good experience.
Immediate fix!
Hearing aid services
February 6, 2019
One of my NHS hearing aids stopped working. I changed battery but that didn't sort it. I looked online for details of where to go to get it looked at but information on repairs was not evident. I decided to go to the Audiology dept. at West Suffolk Hospital either for a repair or for information on where to go. In the event the person on reception pulled various bits off and examined them, fitted a new tube and it was all systems go!!! Immediate fix.
My consultant has been really great
Ophthalmology

My eye consultant has been really great. Not only does she do a first class job of helping me look after my eye condition. She picked up in one of her examinations of my eyes that I had symptoms of sleep apnia and referred me to Addenbrookes where a specialist confirmed her diagnosis. Very professional, very thorough.
Very, very good
Cardiology
February 4, 2019
I have found the new cardiac centre to be very, very good. Not only is it bright and new but it seems well staffed and with people who really know what they are about. I was feeling very poorly and went to the Emergency Dept. I had to sit under the air conditioning unit and I became very cold-had I felt better I would probably have looked for someone to turn it off but I was very unwell. There is a trolley that comes round (the ward) with sweets but no newspapers. I would appreciate it if they could bring a paper as I can't walk to the shop to get one. Overall, very, very good.
Far superior
Cardiology

I was in a clinic (at the hospital) late morning and they sent me to the assessment unit where I sat till 8.0 at night and then was admitted-quite a long wait! I have noticed now and on a previous stay in a short stay ward that there is no obvious carb. count on the menu. I am diabetic and I have to take an educated guess at balancing my diet. This ward (new cardiac unit) is better than anything I have seen at Addenbrokes though the food isn't as good. Lovely environment to be in though.
They have been really good to me

They have been really good to me here - this is my third visit but my first to the new unit. I am a picky, fussy eater so food hasn't been great for me, tastes somehow 'reheated and sometime it is cold. I understand that getting it right for all the different people/palates in this large place is pretty well impossible for the hospital so i navigate my way through the choices as best I can. My care has been really attentive and I feel very well looked after and safe.
