Initially I went to my GP who then referred me on to the hospital who then referred me back to physio which has taken four months to get to this point. The initial referral was quick and since seeing the physio I've been following the exercises they gave me. The print outs were easy to follow and what will happen next has been well explained and any questions I've had have been answered well too.

Currently having monthly session with the physio and then work on the exercises given at home . I've been coming for about 8 months and generally see the same staff which is good. I have found there does seem to be a bit of reluctance to get scans done and even when I was referred on for scans on my back there was nothing significant but then everything just stopped.
Has helped

Staff have explained the process and what to expect well and if I have problems within 12 months I can go back to them. So far it has worked well and I got my initial appointment straightaway and I've been extremely happy with staff. The physio I've seen has been really good and books appointments up in advance. The exercises have really helped and my back is much better but now they are working on my leg where there is another issue.

I've been seeing the physio for regular appointments since Feb 24 and they have been brilliant. The group session worked well and I really like that you can call up and get seen again with in the year rather than having to do a brand new referral.

After seeing a GP I did an online self referral which was good. I had my first appointment with in 3-4 weeks and was given exercises to do in the meantime. I'm seeing the same physio today so they will be able to see if there is any improvement. My mobility is poor so found doing the exercises difficult.
Great location

The self referral process worked well for me to get my knee issues addressed and the location is excellent, with easy parking but the pathway takes so long with 8 months of physio, having to wait for xrays and then again for an MRI it all take months. I've just gone private and had all the same done in 3 weeks which shows the difference in timeframes. I do feel that better IT systems more generally across the NHS would allow patients to book their own appointments, it seems daft that they send you a letter to let you know they will arrange an appointment and then you have to wait for another letter confirming when it is.
Online referral easy

After I saw my GP I was advised to do a self referral to see a physio. The online system was easy to use and I've waited 4 weeks for this appointment but I was offered appointments slightly earlier in other locations but this was easier for me to do.
Good so far

I've been happy with everything so far but I haven't had my first appointment with a physio yet. After I did the referral I had exercises to do for two weeks then a two week wait for this appointment but so far the process to get to this point has been fine.

I have regular appointments with the physios to check on my knee and the progress being made after doing the exercises between appointments. I have seen someone different each time but all staff have been great and the system works well. When I did the initial self referral that was easy to do too.

I was referred to the service by my GP and was given exercises to do which have made a difference. Staff have been lovely and have explained how to do the exercises at home and I've been able to do them on my own. It's been perfect.
