Quick appointment

Newmarket Community Hospital
June 17, 2024
Although I have got here via a very long route including private treatment and referral on to hospital and then to here I've been pleased with how quickly I've been given an appointment here in Newmarket in under a week. So far I'm very pleased but I'm yet to have any treatment.

Very impressed

I have MS and my balance is very bad. When I was assessed by the physio to see whether I could take part in a balance class I came up so low on the scoring that they discussed whether it would have any benefit but they did allow me to do the 6 week course and I am so pleased they did. At the end of the course I improved so much that I scored a high score and I'm now much more confident and my balance is so much better. I've been given exercises to continue at home and I really enjoyed the small group session that they ran and I can call in the future if I need more support, the Physios were amazing.

All good

The process to get in to get support is simple enough and being online its easy to contact the service this way. The staff listen well to the problem being experienced and then advise on the appropriate exercises to do, works well.

Good service

May 30, 2024
Its a good service but has its limitations when so much has to go back through the GP. That's where the delays and difficulties occur as they have to order the bloods and xrays at the physios request and then the physios can't see the results without contacting them again, makes it all so much slower.

Late for an urgent appointment

Riverside Clinic, Ipswich

I was booked in for an urgent appointment by 111 for 1030 and arrived 1020. I was not seen until 11. When asking the receptionist when I'm meant to be seen. I was told that the service is busy and there isn't set times when you are seen. My consultation lasted only 5 minutes, though kudos to the doctor he was still thorough and made sure I was OK. I think the reception team is a disappointment for the service. And they could a little more caring in their response.

Well explained

Its a good system and the exercises that were shown were well explained and I now know that I can go back with in a year if anything isn't right. I've had xrays but my knee isn't bad enough for an operation yet but been very happy with all the staff I've had contact with.

Completely listened to by the physios regarding my underlying condition and they have adapted what needs to be done to take this in to consideration. Everything was well explained and I can see there has been improvement.

This is my third visit and I've noticed a big difference already. I phoned to do the referral and they have arranged for me to have an x-ray and I'm hoping this will be my last visit.

Choice of appointments

Newmarket Community Hospital
April 25, 2024
I did a self referral which was easy enough to do, I've used the service before and have been very pleased with the service so knew I could do it myself. I only had to wait 2 weeks for this appointment and I was give a choice of appointments which was helpful. A little more explanation of movements to do would help to understand what is meant because I didn't really get what was meant by the explanations.
