I saw a GP who said to do a self referral online which worked well and was straight forward to do. I was then seen quickly and staff listened to everything and then provided exercises to do at home. Each member I've seen on subsequent visits has explained everything well and they've gone over what will happen next.

My GP did the referral and I've only had to wait two weeks for the first appointment which is good. Whenever I've called the phone has been answered quickly and the staff have been helpful. I'm not online so it's important to have a phone number to be able to call.

I've used the service before for other issues I've had but the GP suggested I do the self referral this time after they arranged for me to have an x ray. I had to wait 6 weeks for the results of that and then had to wait a further 4 weeks to be seen which is nearly 10 weeks from when I first contacted my GP about the problem.

I was referred by outpatients and I've now had an xray and waiting for the results to be shared by my surgery with the team here. Appointments have been good to get and the staff have all been friendly. I did find it a little difficult to find the telephone number for the service but once I knew how to contact them and do the self referral online it was all very straight forward.

Both me and my wife went to see the AHP service with painful knees, they didn't even look at us, the person firstly told me to wear a mask and then they said to us this was 'wear and tear' and gave us both exercises to do, the fact that they did not even look at the knees was the disappointment to us both.

I like the fact that you can self refer into this physiotherapy service. I have found it to be good and helpful on the times I have needed to use them, they gave me exercises and guidance.
Poor communication, doesn't listen to patient

While individual members of staff are good, the whole AHP service is chaotic and fails to listen to patients. Heavy use of students who resort to Google to give advice and when ask to escalate patients are dismissed. Symptoms and pain dismissed and told to take pain killers. Just a way of stalling patients in a hope they give up

Although I live further away I was offered an appointment at Sudbury Health centre and was happy to travel for the appointment as pleased it was so quick. The staff explained everything well. The only thing I'd say is that my second appointment was very similar to the first so wasn't really needed.

I've been through the whole process as need my other knee replacing and it has been okay until this point but now I have to wait another 6 weeks as I have to see a certain person to do the referral to the hospital. It's a long wait on top of even longer hospital waits.
A Good system

I'm happy with how it has all worked but feel that my issue would've been dealt with quicker if there was actually some hands on treatment rather than just exercises at home.
