A little difficult

After contacting the service I was sent exercises to do but I found this difficult because of my memory. I needed someone to prompt me to do them while I waited for the first appointment.

I've had quick referral as only saw the GP on Tuesday and have been seen 4 days later for an appointment. I completed the online questionnaire which was easy to fill in and felt they have been really proactive. I was put on a cancellation list and given a choice of locations so I could choose the quickest appointment. I've self referred to the service in the past and that worked well too.

I've had little benefit from the service, They seem unable to help and have discharged me because they can't operate I've been discharged.

Staff quickly identified that it was hip not back pain as others had said for years and since I've had the operation its been marvellous. They are brilliant

Having the self referral allowed for a very quick assessment and then referral on to the consultant very quickly so pleased with the service
Jump through hoops

Very much have to jump through hoops to get a referral to a consultant. My knee is a big problem and I still had to have an appointment around work to be asked at the end would I like a referral weeks later. The staff didn't seem interested and there was nothing hands on and they hardly looked at the knee, but you have to attend to get the referral.

It is obvious to staff that I need a hip replacement but I have go go through the whole standard physio process which ticks the boxes to get to a point where I can be referred for an xray. It just seems a waste of their time, although they were very nice people.

I've had great advice, information and exercises provided and I know that I can call back at any point in the next year but hopefully that won't be necessary as the exercises have improved things so much.

Had a face to face interview with you at Hartismere on 5th October, refered by you to Ipswich for an urgent hip replacement, blood test on 12th, nothing further.
