Class made me worse
Riverside Clinic, Ipswich
October 18, 2023
Told by the GP I am in this wrong postcode to get a knee operation, and 'you'd need to go private!' The X-ray I had, they just said 'no further action needed.' However, I am getting less mobile and have had 6 lots of treatment here. I want to avoid the need for surgery. I came to an exercise class, but it was quite general and I could barely walk afterwards. So I feel my knee issue was more complex than the 'norm' that the class was targeted for. Just feel there needs to be more thought around this.
No imaging offered
Riverside Clinic, Ipswich
October 18, 2023
Have been coming for some time and would like to have some 'imaging' done, but feel I'm not getting anywhere. Few years back I had a private treatment and had some 'slow release' injections that lasted about 18 months. This time accessing the NHS service, I just feel I am getting nowhere. Imaging I feel would help inform us on what it going on.
Timely between appointments
Riverside Clinic, Ipswich
October 18, 2023
The general physio was very good and timely between appointments. Since starting the rehabilitation service appointments are much further apart, so feels progress is very slow now. I have access to a gym in between to do the exercises, but could do at thome if needed to.

I was referred by my GP and quickly had an appointment arranged. I was very happy with the treatment and advice given
Very hit and miss elderly people need one to
Aldeburgh Community Hospital
October 15, 2023
An elderly friend has been given yet again a page of exercises to do. She is 88 and has had a hip replacement and both knees replaced she is in severe pain and really needs to see a consultant as she feels the replacement hip has gone wrong but no again and again she is sent to the physio and every time comes out with yet more exercises. But no one has referred her or offered pain relief this was exactly the same with my deceased husband not good.
Easy to access
Framfield Medical Centre, Woodbridge

I personally have found the self-referral an easy process and so found it easy to access. I was surprised to be seen so quickly from that (about three weeks), but getting a call initially also is good as it helps you know you have been successful and it helps manage the timescales expectation.
At a standstill
Framfield Medical Centre, Woodbridge
October 13, 2023
You get to the point where you feel you are making little progress but there seems to be nowhere else to go to help. I continue to do the exercises, but feel at a standstill and would think that some scans would help know if more is going on that initially thought. They resist referring for that though, and it is frustrating.
Told to go online
Framfield Medical Centre, Woodbridge
October 13, 2023
I was told to go online to book an appointment. I cannot fathom it though and so haven't seen them again as yet until today as the surgery got me the appointment in the end due to issues.
Third timer!
Framfield Medical Centre, Woodbridge
October 13, 2023
This is the third time I have needed access to this service with the same issue that comes and goes. Always very efficient and I have got the same exercises to last time. The referral I did for myself was fine and I saw them within a few weeks.
Good progress made
Framfield Medical Centre, Woodbridge

After the GP referral I am seeing someone regularly. They talk to me with respect. Sometimes I feel it is appropriate for a 'hands on' treatment but they don't do that, and told that that is what a massage does and that is not physio. My stability is getting better and good progress is being made. I have also been to a good balance class in my community.
