Really good

Newmarket Community Hospital
September 22, 2023
I've found it a great service and have been given 12 sessions with a physio who has provided amazing support. I feel that the right support has been given by very welcoming staff. This is my second time using the service and I was able to do the self referral easily with the second issue. Staff have explained and demonstrated the exercises well and they have offered good flexibility with appointments. I've also seen the same member of the team which has been really good as they can see how things are changing.

Website not user friendly

Hartismere Hospital – Eye
September 22, 2023
I saw my GP but then did a self referral online but I have a visual impairment and the website was not user friendly. The font in particular was difficult and even when I tried to do the referral on my phone or larger screen I really struggled and I needed my husband to assist me with it.

Process worked well

Hartismere Hospital – Eye
September 22, 2023
I've found that the process has worked well and I was given specific exercises to do by the physio but they also advised what not to do, due to the pain. I've been very happy with how its all worked and I'm now being referred to hospital.

good service but misleading portal

Health and Wellbeing Building, University of Suffolk
September 20, 2023
After receiving the link to book into the 1st appointment, I was given an option of only getting an appointment in Bury, Stowmarket or Sudbury despite stating on the self referral form that I live in Ipswich. I had to call them & leave a message asking if I could get an appointment in Ipswich. I'm not sure that others would think of contacting them if their portal didn't show a location they could get to.

They said physio might help

Riverside Clinic, Ipswich
September 19, 2023
I was sent to Riverside AHP towards the end of 2022 to attend a physio assessment, I have been experiencing a lot of pain withy my knees, it really felt to me like a delay tactic but they said that it might help me. I was asked to attend 6 weeks at the gym which was making my pain worse but I understand that it was to improve my muscles. AHP eventually referred me a couple of months later for a knee replacement operation but I have been told to expect to wait for 2 years. 7 months later I saw a consultant and I was then advised that I need both knees complete replacement. I have been asked to attend a pre op group in a couple of months time. The staff have all been kind and good towards me it is just the system that seems to need improving, I should not have to wait for such a long time in pain like this.

seen quickly

Newmarket Community Hospital
September 19, 2023
I had a quick referral after attending a&e and was seen in a couple of weeks after receiving the paperwork. Very pleased with how staff have talked through and demonstrated exercises but I have found it difficult to fit them in due to work but things have greatly improved and I've been discharged.

I had severe hip pain, which was affecting my

Sudbury Health Centre
September 5, 2023
I saw someone at Sudbury HC , for an initial assessment. He diagnosed my issues, gave me exercises to do. Initially I was in a lot of pain, but persisted and within a week, my pain reduced and made it more manageable. At my follow up with the same person, he encouraged ongoing exercises, which has helped me manage my condition. The staff member was always very enthusiastic and professional.

Pleased with service

Ixworth Surgery
August 16, 2023
I've found the the whole process great. I was sent a questionnaire and was then able to get an appointment which was within two weeks once I'd spoken to the physio. The process so far has been good and I feel that the self referral process works really well.

Good first steps

Drovers House, Bury St Edmunds
August 14, 2023
I've had my first appointment at Drovers house following the self referral process and have now been given a 6 week course, but at Newmarket. Getting to Drovers House was more difficult as I needed to go by bus.

Very pleased

August 14, 2023
The whole process was so easy and provided locally too. The staff have addressed the issues I had and the staff were very knowledgeable. They provided good explanations about what and why they were doing certain things and I really liked the self referral process and I got a quick appointment. through it.
