It is slightly better

The phones seem to be answered quicker now and there's not bad availability of appointments either and I've got to see the doctor when I've requested an appointment. I've even been able to request a certain doctor or choose someone else if they are not available. I did recently wait quite a while for someone to come to reception after I rang the bell, and feel it would be better if some one was there as quickly as possible or another member of the team could support the front desk, other than that everything else has been okay.
Take a long time to get through on phone

I find that it always takes a long time to get through on the phone to the surgery, also you are hardly able to get a face to face appointment these days its often just over the phone.
Friendly and helpful reception

To get appointments by phone doesn't take very long and once through the telephone call backs work well and then I've been offered face to face appointments with a doctor when needed. I haven't been given a choice over who to see and I would prefer to see one person each time but I'm not too worried about it. The reception staff are friendly and helpful on the whole but at times there does feel a reluctance to help or go the extra mile.
Combining appointments difficult

I have needed multiple appointments recently for different issues but the surgery staff are not overly proactive at trying to arrange appointments for the same day and I've ended up having to come back and forth.

I booked an appointment a couple of weeks ago for a medication review which wasn't too bad and I now order my medication online but between ordering it and being able to pick it up is now a week so you have to make sure it's requested in time to be sure not to run out. The surgery and hospital do seem to manage to communicate quite well which makes things easier.

Reviews have taken place when they should and they've been carried out well. The staff are helpful and the conversations I've had with the doctor was good and they went through things well with me. I like that there is a choice of doctor although I'm happy to see any of them. It would make more sense if medication could be prescribed for longer periods of time rather than having to request them monthly, even two monthly would be better. I have had some difficulty trying to arrange a cervical screening appointment as there is little flexibility with appointments.

The surgery here at East Bergholt does feel better as there is more room when compared to Capel. I haven't needed to use the surgery much and have been able to get a non urgent appointment with the nurse in 2 weeks.

I've seen some very good doctors lately, they have listened well and don't make you feel stupid as others have done in the past. I've been given a choice over who to see which is helpful. The phones can be busy but I tend to use econsult for the children and recently its been excellent as we're always seen quickly on the same day. We did have an issue where a referral wasn't done by staff for 8 months and this delayed our child getting seen at the hospital.

Appointments are easy to get, a little bit of a wait on the phone to get through but that's understandable. The phone call I had with the GP went well and then I was invited in by the GP. The staff are great and I really can't fault the practice. The door could do with a bit of oil it makes a lot of noise when it slides open.

More able to get appointments now in the last few months. Call backs can be difficult but now they give an am or pm slot at least you know when they'll be in touch, but you do have to wait by the phone. Last week the doctor I saw was very good and I was invited in after speaking with them. I was surprised but happy that I was having an appointment and with the outcome. The overall attitude of the surgery has improved, it would be good if the front desk could be manned all the time so you don't end up just waiting for someone to notice you.
