Good. Usually get to see my own GP

I like this surgery and get to see my own GP most of the time. Appointments do run a bit late most of the time

Good but service does run late at times

April 10, 2017
I like it that the GP comes out to get me and it's not the screen/beep system. Much more personal this way. Always liked the service, though it does run a bit late most of the time

There is one member of staff, a receptionist, who is quite rude most of the time. My daughteris very reluctant to phone for an appointment. I have to do it for her. this should not be. Rest of staff are very nice

Triage with receptionist

July 12, 2016
I don't like it that I have to tell reception what's wrong only then to get a call back at some time that day from the doctor only to have to repeat myself. What's the point of telling receptionists when they obviously make no notes to pass into the doctor which would surely mean when they ring you it would be a shorter call as they would already have most the information.

Thank you for your comment which has been shared withour GPs and staff group.

I am sorry that you do not feel comfortable sharing information with staff and that you feel you have to repeat yourself to the GP.

All information given by patients is noted down by reception staff on our clinical system. For medical and legal reasons, the GP has to go through with you what the problem is and satisfy him / her self that they understand correctly what the problem is, otherwise there would be a possible risk to the safety of the patient due to inaccurate reporting of symptoms.

You are not compelled to tell the reception staff about your medical symptoms. This does help the duty GP to assess in order of medical priority which patients to call first, and not giving such information may affect how your problem is prioritised.

I hope that this response is helpful.

Good care if I can see my own dr. Good care from my practice nurse. Up to 3 weeks to get an appointment

Thank you for your comment. There are always same day appointments available by speaking to the Duty GP on any given day. Unfortunately, these may not be with your preferred Dr.

Extra support given when needed

May 10, 2016
A couple with a learning difficulty means they need a little extra support on some occasions. They are always very good. The man had to have an extra tablet and it was very well explained why this was needed.
