Great

November 6, 2024
I had back surgery and the consultant and nurses were brilliant. I had a one and a half year wait for the operation after being referred by my GP. I'm now seeing the community physio after being discharged the next day. At the pre op appointment they gave good advice about what I could and couldn't do after the operation and pain relief was covered before I was discharged.

Children's Ward

children\'s ward Garret Anderson building
November 5, 2024
The renovation of the children's ward has improved the feel and appearance and the care has been good. Communication between departments could be improved as things get missed at times.

Cannot fault them

Orthopaedics
October 29, 2024
Orthopaedics , very impressed of the commitment from the department generally, |I found the communication to be good, staff kind and professional, really cannot fault them. The only thing I would improve is increase the amount of disabled parking spaces, not quite enough.

Rude registrar neurologist

Neurology

Awful rude registrar neurologist, who failed to introduce himself only after asking and then proceeded to gaslight and talk over me dismissing all my symptoms and concerns

Lack of communication or basic patient care

Accident and emergency services
October 24, 2024
After a visit to A&E was told need to be admitted to a ward and was then left in A&E for 27 hours. No communication from staff, no meals provided (told they don't provide food in A&E) and general sense of chaos. No privacy and no check on patient welfare. The new building looks great but is chaotic and not fit for purpose

A & E lost my false teeth

Accident and emergency services
October 1, 2024
I was taken by ambulance in June 2022 to the A & E, I was admitted to the ward for a week, when I was in A & E they removed my false teeth and I never saw them again. The nursing staff said that they had put them in a bag. I recognised that they were missing as soon as I got to the ward and A & E were asked by the ward staff but they were lost. I was very upset about it.

2 year wait

September 25, 2024
I've had a 2 year wait for an injection to help my fibromyalgia and it's been a very hard wait. Just hoping it will work as the last one did.

Poor dementia care

September 25, 2024
Food was just left in front of mum on her tray but because of her dementia she doesn't realise she hasn't eaten or even needs to eat and there is little support unless the family are there. Also the food options weren't really suitable for her due to her swallowing issues.

Family not involved

September 25, 2024
The hospital team set up mum's care before she came out but the family weren't involved at all and there was no discussion about what care was being arranged. We then just had a bill turn up and it's about 3k a week for the care that she needs.

Stroke Team are amazing

Stroke services
September 25, 2024
6 Weeks ago I had a TIA (Mini stroke) and the stroke team from the hospital started coming to my home every week about 3 times to start then twice weekly for one hour visits at a time. They gave me personal exercises, advice, information, I have learnt so much from them they have been absolutely brilliant. Friendly, kind, supportive, understanding. They have stopped their visits now and I was discharged but I have been told that I can always contact them again if I am concerned or need something. Honestly..without the stroke team I wouldn't be where I am today.
