I had eye surgery and I have to say that it went very smoothly and I didnt have to wait around at all, I can say it was an all round excellent service.

Excellent Service

Audiology

Excellent service. They fitted me in as soon as possible and in the end I got in two weeks earlier than the date given. There was a lovely staff member who tested and fitted my new hearing aids and explained how to use them.

I was too unwell but they send me home

wards
February 21, 2024
I was getting prepared at the hospital for discharge home but I was feeling so unwell, I spoke with the lady who was there at the time but she just said it was because I was getting myself all ' jeed up' about going home, I felt that I was dismissed even though I knew how unwell I felt. I got home and I told my wife that I felt unwell and I was starting to feel I was getting worse so my wife called the 111 service and the caller could hear me in the background and asked my wife if that was her husband?, they could hear my breathing. They advised that they were going to call an ambulance and I was taken back into hospital that same night with pneumonia which I was told later was pneumonia contracted in hospital. I was admitted for several days until I was improved enough to go home again.

I fear ever going in hospital myself

wards
February 21, 2024
Sadly my late wife lost some of her dignity in hospital I feel, she was fully reliant on staff to assist her for all of her physical needs as she couldnt walk. I observed her call for assistance for the toilet which took staff 30 minutes to attend to her but it was too late. All of this was very hard to watch when someone is so unwell. She eventually had care at home until she passed away. It causes me feelings of fear about my own health and if I ever had to go into hospital myself.

Nurses were attentive

Claydon ward
February 21, 2024
I was taken by ambulance to A & E with chest pains, unfortunately I ended up in A & E for 12 hours and I didnt have any food, but I was eventualy admitted and they treated me well on Claydon ward, I was in for about a week and I have to say that the nurses were very attentive to me, for that aspect I will give them 5 out of 5 stars.

Difficult interaction

Haematology
February 21, 2024
I was sent to phlebotomy by my GP. When I arrived at the phlebotomy clinic the first person I saw said "I suppose you have come from your surgery"? I said that I had, she told me that I had to ring and book for this service and said that I could do this on my mobile phone from outside, I told her that the doctor had sent me! she then said "sit down then". Sadly this was a difficult interaction, attitude from the staff member could have been better.

Good experience from Raedwald clinic

Day surgery
February 21, 2024
The nurses in the children's ward of Raedwald were fantastic. They were very attentive and we were kept informed all the way through. They did what they said and even advised how far down the list my son was when we got there.

Wonderful treatment for cancer

Urology
February 12, 2024
The staff in the urology department are so caring and efficient, very supportive from diagnosis to hopefully end of treatment. Cannot fault the help I received in any way.

High quality support exceptionally quickly

Gynaecology
February 5, 2024
Good - swift reactions and processing of scan results through to urgent surgery to address a cyst. Every single person I came across was helpful, empathetic, and knowledgeable. My appointments were faster than the letters arriving. It was a truly lovely experience.
Not so good - no real post-surgery contact. I was given a piece of paper about some generalities on my wound care, but no check in on the well-being, or even practical advice on handling surgical wounds, time frame for stitches to come out, or what sort of things I can expect to deal with post surgery and time frame.

Slow results

January 31, 2024
After being in hospital for investigations and then being discharged for a week now I'm still waiting for results to be sent to the GP surgery. Staff do very well with what they've got.
