Staff great

Accident and emergency services
December 4, 2023
I was very pleased with my experience in A&E. After waiting a couple of hours for an ambulance to arrive I was then picked up and taken in to hospital where I was seen quickly by lovely kind staff. The care provided was very good and they kept me informed throughout.

ENT staff are so friendly and lovely and the department sees you quickly so there is no hanging around waiting for your appointment which is great.

Telephone consultations great

November 27, 2023
Its been excellent, I really think it has been a positive move to telephone consultations as I used to have to drive in, park and then go in to the hospital and wait for the appointment only to spend a matter of minutes talking to my consultant. This way I can be at home have the discussion with the consultant and all be done with in minutes.

Information not read

Eye department
November 27, 2023
The only issue I have is that my sight loss is never read or recorded properly by staff. They come to waiting rooms to call me in but then walk off without me so I don't know where I'm going. It doesn't fill you with confidence when staff think you're attending a clinic for a different reason, they thought I was there for cataracts.

Well supported

Dieticians and Gastrology
November 27, 2023
I've been really impressed by the support I've received since being referred to the dietician. It took a long time for my concerns to be taken seriously by my GP but once I saw my other consultant at the hospital they quickly referred me on to the dieticians

Great care in A&E

November 27, 2023
We went in to hospital and the carer that was provided was excellent, the staff were lovely and I really couldn't fault anything. Staff even mananged to get us both a sandwich and drink as we'd had nothing for so long, I was perfectly happy to go and get us something.

I am worried for me and other deaf people.

Audiology
November 23, 2023
I sent a feedback after the Healthwatch Suffolk AGM this year. In particular 'us who are deaf' have difficulty contacting Audiology. Most deaf people cannot use the phone, and often are not able to e-mail. The other alternative - text - is not possible as audiology do not have a mobile phone. I have even thought about having a fundraising event to purchase one for them. Any thoughts on that? It is the same for the hearing aid clinics around the county - one must phone or e-mail to make an appointment as they are so busy. Lack of contact for those with hearing impairment can lead to dementia as we know - I hope you can take this matter further. Thank you.

Waiting a year

Urology
November 22, 2023
I have been waiting for a year for an operation. I am on a catheter and my infections are now more often, so I have concerns about this. I worry a lot about sepsis. I do not dare ring up and ask how long I am having to wait, as I may rile them up and put me down further. I just have to wait and worry about it.

Cataract issues

Eye Clinic
November 22, 2023
After a cataract operation, I needed laser treatment in one eye. I discovered in June 2023 that I need the same in the other eye. I have received a letter from the hospital confirming the referral. Not an indication of the date of the possible treatment though.

Good care

Eye Clinic
November 17, 2023
I have regular visits here and I have had good ongoing care. The injections seem they will be unpleasant, but I am put at ease and used to it now. The first time was daunting, as the idea was not nice, yet staff were so kind and helped me get past that. I am being informed well about the ongoing situation and how many I need and when.
