Happy with care
September 19, 2023
Appointments have been offered quickly and the doctors have talked things through well and I know what the next steps are. I've been very happy with the care provided.
Stroke Team are excellent
Stroke services
September 19, 2023
I was on holiday and I experienced some unusual symptoms of numbness and tingling in side of face, I left it until I got home and went to see my GP who immediately sent me to A & E who diagnosed that I had experienced a stroke and I was then passed on to the stroke team. I have to say the stroke team have been amazing offering me lots of things, they check on me and offer my physio and speech therapy, this is all within a few days of being at A & E . I have been very impressed with how attentive they are being and the attitude of the staff is lovely.

stowupland ward
September 19, 2023
I was admitted to Stowupland ward, I found the staff to be excellent, attentive, professional, they were regularly doing observations and keeping an eye on me being fitted up with a catheta.
Good care
September 18, 2023
Care from staff when I had an operation was good. I did have to wait nearly 5 months for the operation but that wasn't too bad. The consultant explained everything that was planned and I feel they had a helpful approach.
Nurses were excellent
stradbrook ward
September 6, 2023
I was transferred from A & E to critical care I was there for a couple of days where a nurse was with me all the time day and night. I had to have then an operation for acute appendicitis. The nurses on the ward (Stradbroke Ward) were absolutely excellent, as well as being professional at their job from a medical perspective they were personable and friendly and had good humour, they were everything I and also my husband needed at the time.

Accident and emergency services

I was dealt with instantly having being taken to A & E, they scanned me, I was in a lot of pain, they gave me some medication to calm me down as I was in so much pain. They then took me to critical care for further care and treatment.
Rheumatology
Rheumatology

It took about 8 months to get the initial appointment for an ongoing illness, this was the only time that i got to see the Rheumatologist. I had multiple follow up appointments moved due to staff sickness which resulted in very long waits of several months between appointments to see the nurse practioner, which is a far too long when you are trying to find medication that will work. I only got the results of my last MRI scan through to a letter from the Rheumatologist, with a promise of an appointment to discuss it, which never happened. I never had any of the other tests results. I was sent a letter 6 months after the last scan with an appointment which i could not do as i am a single parent with no one else to collect my child from school and it was at school pick up time. i was told that i was not allowed to cancel anymore appointments because i had previously asked to rearrange one due to childcare. i was told i would be given one last chance to attend an appointment but have not heard from them since, it has now been several months and i have given up. I previously gave up with this department 27 years ago and again 9 years ago due to their incompetence, sadly nothing has changed
Visit to A&E
Accident and emergency services
August 30, 2023
I brought a family member to A&E recently and was so impressed by the changes that have been made since my last visit 18 months ago. The department was organised and efficient and the staff were very helpful and welcoming , despite it being extremely busy. The triage system works brilliantly, and the regular checks on patients and information given whilst waiting was fantastic as helped to reduce stress levels enormously. I felt very comfortable leaving family member as felt she was in good hands and would be well looked after. The atmosphere in general was calm and people seems happy to wait patiently, as their expectations had been addressed. This is a complete contrast to the poor experiences that myself and family have experienced in the past. Its obvious that a lot of changes have been made to organisational processes and a lot of hard work has been undertaken by all, it really has paid off and is a credit to the staff working there
Well supported
Cancer services

I've had scans and tests done very quickly and have access to a specialist nurse who gets back to me and even though the message says it may be in 48hrs it is always quicker. The day unit nurses are lovely and consultants work so hard even when running really late with clinics, they still stay and see people and remain friendly and polite.
