Phone consultations have worked

I've found the phone consultations have worked well with consultants and the care and treatment provided has been so supportive, with all scans, CT and MRI arranged quickly

The post stroke team were absolutely 'on the ball' they were very prompt. The service was absolutely faultless, the physio exercises all 'spot on'. They came to my home twice a week for a period of 6-7 weeks. They explained things so well to me. It is a pleasure to say they were exemplary, the team worked so well together.

You get through quickly at the macular degeneration clinic, the staff are very good and the whole process I cannot fault. I attend every 7 weeks, the injection is not nice but the service could not be any better.

A good friend of mine was seen in hospital by the Macmillan team, she was a very unwell lady with multiple health issues including COPD, Arthritis, Stroke and Cancer she was brought home and I was so upset to see that the Macmillan nurses did not come out to her before she thyen died at Christmas 2022.

I contacted my GP with huge amount of pain, as no appointments, they said if I feel I need to be seen I need to phone 111 after hours or go to A&E. I had to go on the bus, sat for ages, had a chat and was told nothing was wrong, but they did no scan. Went home in absolute agony and it did not go away and was getting worse, this time I got a Taxi. They did an X-Ray and as a result sent me down for major surgery on a twisted bowel!
I cannot believe that I was palmed off with no initial investigations and I have lost trust in them being thorough. Just feel I was treated diabolically.

Was prepped for an operation. Had to have 3 day off the meds. Sat all afternoon and at 5pm was told they have no time to do it now. They said they could do it a few days later, but the medication withdrawal cannot be left for that amount of time as I have to be back on them for 3 weeks. So now we have to go through the whole process again and it messes my health up when there is the cancellations. Surely, they should look at this when prioritising things. I do not know who else is ahead of me, and it may be that they are more urgent, but I wish somehow they could inform me of this rather than leave me hanging about all day, withdrawn from important meds, only to cancel. Surely they would know earlier than 5pm.

I am here regularly and I never have any issues. It is easy to book, they run on time and everything is done really smoothly. You never feel rushed although it is so quick. There is good communication too with my GP with the results that inform my medication.

I have found this to be consistently excellent, having used it a few times this month. The staff are always pleasant, from the welcome you get by reception, to those taking your blood. The wait is never that long.

I have to wait about 2 weeks from when the GP said I needed to come , which I think isn't too bad considering it would be way longer than that, if at all at the surgery itself. Everyone is very nice and running on time as they usually do.

The link up from the ward to Phlebotomy is not always brilliant. I have had to walk to there, to get the paperwork a few times from Phlebotomy. It is rather ridiculous as you'd think it was on the internal system.
Phlebotomy themselves are excellent. I do wish I could access the 'transfusion' side more locally as have to travel quite far weekly to get it. Also have to have family member bring me as I am quite weak from it.
