Dialysis unit is good

The unit is good but the ratio is about 5 patients to 1 member of staff which is ok until something goes wrong and then it's a little understaffed. They do the best they can with what they have they just need more staff.
Waiting times aren't good

I needed a hernia operation but because of the waiting time I decided that I needed to go private in the end. The waiting time for endocrinology is 3-4 months just to see the consultant which is a long time when you're experiencing issues.
Fantastic ward - Levington

The care on the ward was fantastic and the staff were great at putting me at ease. When I first came in to the hospital via A&E that was great and I was seen quickly and had a scan. The surgical assessment unit was very busy but staff were good. Overall the care provided has been very good at each point.

The care on Somersham ward from all staff but the nurses in particular has been very good and I've felt well monitored and my medication has been provided well. The only issue is how hot it gets on the ward and although we had fans at the bottom of the bed it wasn't enough and they really need a mobile air con unit. There was one shift overnight that wouldn't allow the ward doors to stay open due to the possible noise but the heat was quite unbearable and we really needed them open. The Macmillian nurses and the hospice have been wonderful, they have offered so much support and my whole experience with doctors and other staff has been great
Lack of communication with surgery

I was sent for an angiogram but there wasn't any discussion about this and I didn't realise it was happening. The first time I spoke to a cardiologist was when I was signing the consent form for the procedure.

Very little care provided by HCA's on Woodbridge ward, they just didn't do that much and then on the Bramford Assessment Unit it was so busy but they were so on the ball and it was a great unit.

We attended the paediatric A&E and were seen very quickly. It's great that children have a seperate area and the staff were so lovely with our son.

The 2 week pathway has been very good and I really can't fault the care and treatment over last summer. Have had to wait 6 weeks for my latest scan but everything before this has been wonderful

The care provided by the hospital for my child who has type 1 diabetes is excellent. They are so supportive and the consultant deals with and supports the school. We have access to an email address that is repsonded to quickly and we can contact them 24hrs a day.

I was booked in for a colonoscopy. Before I attended I had a zoom meeting with the staff nurse, I found her to be very good and alayed any fear or questions I had, it was very conveinient on zoom. When I arrived at the hospital clinic I only had to wait a few minutes before I was met by a friendly staff member and took me through. The procedure went well and they treated me very well. I also had a follow up call from the hospital a few days after the procedure, I was very impressed with them.
