From the 999 service to the 2 brilliant paramedics who were curtious and caring to the A&E department who got my wife on treatment straight away to the lovely efficient and caring doctors and nurses on ward 4 who were just brilliant, not forgetting the cleaning staff.

I recently had a 6 hour wait in A&E following a fall. I realise the department is really busy and I wasn't overly worried by the time spent there as I was triaged with in an hour and then had a CT scan and waited for the doctor to see me. I was really happy with all the care and was then discharged home.

I was referred for a mammogram and ultrasound by my surgery. The staff were incredibly reassuring and even though they didn't feel there was anything to be concerned about I can go back directly to them if I notice any change.
Pressure to have induction

At about 37 weeks I was being pressured to have an induction even though I didn't want one. I had a number of staff in the appointment with me and it wasn't a comfortable appointment. Although I was saying no at this point I was told that I needed to say to them that if my baby died it was on me as their advice was to induce as they believed the baby was big. Of course my baby wasn't big in the end and everything was fine.
Inappropriate language

Due to past trauma my GP surgery referred me to hospital to have my cervical screening done. When I had the appointment the person doing the procedure said something about the difficulty of doing the procedure which was completely inappropriate, I was absolutely amazed by what was said.
Disappointing attitude

I was receiving treatment that I've had a number of times before but always with local anaesthetic but this time the new consultant decided that it wasn't necessary. They then got annoyed with me when the pain became too much. I managed to cope for some of the treatment to be carried out but couldn't bear all of it. They made it very clear they were not impressed and wouldn't even look or speak directly to me, preferring to speak through the nurse. The nurse throughout was lovely but I will never see that consultant again .

Last year I had my hip replacement February 2024 @ James Paget Hospital, and I cannot express enough how impressed I am with the entire experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel comfortable and reassured. The surgical team was exceptional—highly skilled, professional, and compassionate throughout the process.
The operation itself went flawlessly, and the aftercare provided by the nurses and support staff was outstanding. They were attentive to my needs, always ready to answer questions, and genuinely cared about my recovery.
Thank you, JPH for providing such excellent care. I highly recommend this hospital to anyone in need of quality medical treatment.

Eye care excellent with lazer treatment

I was referred from my optician a few weeks before and I was given an appointment at the hospital to have 2 lazer treatments to seal veins which had been identified, the procedures were done and I have been back for a check up and all is fine. Staff were very good with me, no complaints and no improvements to identify, I had the same professional deal with me so the consistency was good too.
