Virtual ward team excellent service

Elderly mother transferred to virtual ward team on discharge from Ward 18. What an amazing team, knowing that each day we would have support and knowledgeable staff contact us was so reassuring. The Nurses, sister and Dr were all excellent. One nurse came out to our home take bloods one morning, calls at least once but often several times a day everyday and advice available when needed. The Dr made two detailed phone calls to us to explain results and nothing was too much trouble. Thankyou so much.

Mum was taken in to ED by ambulance. Excellent ambulance staff, really caring, professional and with a great sense of humour. Transfer to ED quick despite 18 ambulances in the queue. ED staff sooo busy but amazing, thorough assessment, needed to stay in dept overnight but well looked after and kept well informed.

The hospital has been great and the new diagnostic centre was wonderful when we visited it recently.

I felt that the midwife I had was brilliant, they really advocated for me around having a c section. To be fair all the staff were great and I had a good birth experience even though it wasn't exactly what I'd hoped for and when they weren't able to drop the sheet down the consultant explained the reasons why.

I had a difficult birth and I wanted to discuss what had happened but I was just told what was written in the notes and I didn't feel that it reflected what I remembered and it just felt like they were saying the notes will be accurate, end of discussion.

I liked that the consultant gave their opinion about whether to have a c section or not. A date was set for the c section and I was told what to expect on the day. Staff were all great and kept it all very relaxed which helped. The only thing is that I wasn't given much information about how to heal well afterwards, I ended up doing my own research to help but this could be done by staff.

Paediatrics are very good, follow ups with the team have been great and the midwives throughout my pregnancy were checking on me and the babies regularly. I felt comfortable and confident with everyone.

I was booked to have a C section but there were no beds available and they wanted to send me to a different hospital. Following a discussion they listened to my reasons for staying at the hospital, namely having another child at home and they then offered me a choice of dates to come in, including the next day which I opted for.

I was supposed to have surgery on my maxilla bone as I have an infection and I'm in danger of blood poisoning, and awaited for months for the surgery, and when the day came it was cancelled by phone on the morning I was supposed to have so many times that I gave up now I'm trying to not die while trying to get money for private....
