Excellent continuity

After having my previous child a couple of years ago and this one a few months ago, I was able to see the difference in the continuity of care teams. It was excellent and made such a difference to me. yes, Covid will have played a part last time, but seeing the same team helped so much, which in a way I would have expected in Covid due to having 'bubbles'. I would say too that the mental health support was really good too, as the last experience was difficult due to covid and lack of support from family being allowed, and it being my first. So, I was nervous, but they were brilliant.

I experience a very caring 'feeling' as soon as I go in to the department. Very lovely staff. Everything explained to you properly and a leaflet with more information to bring home. It was great to be treated the same as everyone else. I have been in a wheelchair since birth and still not always treated as an adult. Thank you to all in this department.

I found very good communication with patients, the oncologist themselves also had such a kind attitude, I cannot tell you how important that is.

I came in for my hip to be looked at and it turned into quite a daunting experience. They all 'gowned up', which made things feel pretty intense. They communicated really well with me though to help put me at ease and talk me through things as they gave me an injection with the use of a scan to be accurate.
Cannot seem to treat

It has been difficult after having my metatarsus removed. The pain management/physio can no longer do anything and the knock on affect in my health has not been great. They have kept reviewing me though and I await another operation.

I am so grateful to the James Paget hospital team, they saved my life. I had stomach pain and had to have an emergency operation and had a stoma put in place. They looked after me so well on ward 5 I cannot speak too highly.

On the surface it always feels calm from the staff. I find they find appointments quickly when needed. Staff are pleasant. I found the urology department to be excellent and also A & E.

I only called Monday and was offered an appointment already (3 days later).
My aids are 6 years old now and they are depreciating. I am not sure when they will be replaced. The tubes are getting brittle.
The staff here could not be lovelier.

After losing my hearing aid, I was able to get an appointment within a week. For me that is really quick. The staff are super lovely and only too happy to help.
