Holbrook and Shotley Surgery - (Shotley)

There are two main Surgeries, in Holbrook and Shotley. Both surgeries have Dispensaries which will issue prescribed drugs to eligible patients (if you live within one mile of an independent Pharmacy we are not permitted to dispense to you.).



Both surgeries are well equipped, purpose designed buildings and are conveniently situated in the centres of their villages on bus routes.



Wheelchair access, disabled toilets and baby changing facilities are provided at both premises. In addition to the main surgeries, there is a surgery held at the Royal Hospital School, Holbrook, for pupils only.

Very good. Easy to get appointments

Very good. Get to see the same doctor all the time and appointments aren't difficult to get.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such positive comments. We do try to provide continuity where we can but clearly holidays and sickness can impact on this. However, all clinicians at the practice have access to your medical records so should be able to catch up quickly if you have to see a different GP.

Always able to get appointments when required. Really like the telephone consultations as getting to the surgery is difficult for me. It saves time for the doctors

A very good surgery; very pleased with the care we've received. There is one doctor who I'd prefer not to see but it's not a big problem

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback for our practice. We now have 7 doctors and, although every patient has a registered GP who has overall responsibility for your care, you are able to choose which doctor you see. This may mean you have to wait a little longer for your appointment or go to the other site but it does provide flexibility where needed.

Like having the two surgeries. I do find getting to the surgery difficult as I rely on other people but the reception staff are very accommodating and helpful and make sure I can get appointments when I have access to transport. Care is very good. I see the same GP most of the time.

Thank you for your kind comments, which are appreciated by our doctors and staff. Did you know that we have a number of Good Neighbour Schemes who may be able to help with your transport issues? We also now have the Community Connector Scheme at Shotley Village Hall on a Tuesday or Wednesday who can provide help on Social issues - this may alleviate the need to visit the surgery in person. Alternatively we offer telephone appointments, which may help you, although we appreciate they are not always suitable.

Excellent surgery. Everything works well; can get appointments when needed and can go to either surgery and see the doctor I prefer

Very happy. Surgery is good. Rally like the online prescription and appointment system; saves going to the surgery and booking online means you get to see the clinician of your choice.

Oxygen supply - good referral

May 12, 2016
Obtaining oxygen cylinder for asbestosis COPD. Told it was not available from doctor, found out it was from county council health centre. Would send papers to Dr for him to refer. 'Phoned and told doctor.
