6 week wait

Audiology
March 11, 2024
I was having issues with my hearing aid but had to wait 6 weeks for it to be re fitted by the department which was a little bit difficult. The follow up will be at Sudbury Health Centre which will be easier to get to.

Long wait

Pain management
March 11, 2024
It has taken 18 months to see someone at the hospital to get a pain clinic referral. The whole time you're waiting for a diagnosis you're not getting any support and it feels like you've been put on a shelf.

Great care with a scary bleep

Maternity
March 6, 2024
Overall my care during pregnancy and labour was very good indeed starting at community care and ending in theatre for emergency cesarian. Only one part was negative - when at key stage of labour I did not seem to be heard and instead staff had fallen into the trap of „it is always painful” - when in fact something was wrong.

Very positive

Maternity

We were always very well looked after and always felt supported. Any concerns for baby were addressed and extra scans put in place where necessary. Both births were selective sections and everyone was incredible, before, during and after. No doubt having more staff would take the pressure of those already working but they cannot be faulted for their care.

Long wait

Discharge lounge
March 4, 2024
I was waiting to be discharged in the lounge from 12 and didn't get home until 7pm. I was not given any drinks or food during that time, so had nothing till I got home.

Gave birth at WSH, also had additional after

Maternity
March 2, 2024
Felt as though they were very much understaffed during my labour. One midwife having to do everything on her own for over 12 hours straight. She was struggling to type up my notes as well as assist during my contractions. Stiches weren't tied off correctly and a week later I had to go back in to have them re-done. The care during period was very good however, very prompt and professional.

The care and support from the wonderful specialist Parkinsons nurse has been very good. I've had support from them for some time now and they are just great.
