Good medical treatment

They did give me good medical treatment, however I was in A & E overnight and by the morning I was very hungry, they did not have any food to offer me but I explained that I was desperately hungry and one of the staff managed to find me some Orange juice and a weetabix. I think it would be good if food was more readily available for people who are in a similar situation and stuck in A & E.

I have had several eye operations at this hospital. They are just brilliant in the eye department, its also easy to get an appointment They have always said if I need to see them, I just need to ring them up.
Virtual Ward great

I've been part of the virtual ward after being in hospital for a while and have found it really good. The care provided during my stay was great and I was kept well informed at all points. Once I was well enough to go home and be monitored virtually it was all set up and I was allowed to go home. I was very happy with everything being monitored by staff while I was at home and I had regular face to face calls with the consultant. The only issue we had was learning how far I could be from the communication hub. When it was first set up it was too far away and the alarms went off overnight and an ambulance arrived. Once this was corrected it all worked well and it was much better to be at home, at least it showed the system would alert if something went wrong.

I have regular check ups and treatment at the hospital and it has all been very good. I'm very happy with how my cancer is being monitored with regular MRI scans too. The staff have also been lovely and so supportive along the way.

The care I received when I went in to A&E following a fall was good. I went in at 9pm and was allowed to go home at 2am after being told there were no injuries. However, when I was contacted by my surgery I was told I had in fact broken a rib which I wasn't told about.

I was referred to the hospital but wasn't told which department it would be so when I called it was quite shocking to hear a message saying welcome to the suspected cancer unit, I wonder if a different name could be found as it was very hard to hear.

I like that the clinics are being held at local venues as it really saves on parking costs and the time it takes to travel. I'm happy with the care provided by the department and that I can contact them if any issues come up.
Long wait for dietician

I've been referred to the dietician at the hospital but the appointment will be on the phone so not sure how great that will be. Although I've been referred early this winter the appointment won't be until July 2023.

When our surgery was unable to see our child we went to A&E and they sorted the situation straight away. We were sent straight through to Rainbow ward and the care was amazing.

Care and treatment have been great at the eye clinic. Appointments run to time and the staff are supportive and provide good support.
