Physio explained everything

The physio explained everything that they did. How I should stand and so on. Gave me exercises and equipment (bands) to exercise at home
Long & in depth pathway for treatment, difficult to access.

The referral process to get more in depth help and investigation. The pathway means you can't progress unless you have seen and done what they want even if everyone knows what the outcome will be. Very difficult to access. However, physio has been very good and the self referral process works well. The pathway is rigid, even my GP couldn't do anything. At every step all professionals knew what was needed but no one could do anything to shorten or simplify the pathway.

Great physio but not regular appointments

When I actually saw the physio they were great but they were so busy I couldn't be seen as often as needed so there was little benefit. I ended up being seven every weeks as no appointments were available

Really great. Went while I was pregnant and then carried on doing the pilates offered by them during my maternity leave
Flexible service and self referral works well

The self referral process worked well and the staff were able to give good advice on exercises to do. The appointments were flexible to allow me to fit them in around work.

After speaking with my doctor I self referred to the service on a Sunday night. I was contacted the next day and seen for the first time on the Friday. I've been very happy with the treatment provided and explanations have been good and the treatment has worked really well. I liked the self referral service.

My GP wrote to AHP to refer my to the service but six months later I had not heard from them. After chasing the referral I did receive treatment and an further referral for surgery. Once I was seen the service was good but the referral delay was not good.

I've had physio at a local surgery and have been very happy with the support provided and the explanations have been very good.
Reasonable service, but not a lot available.

Following a stroke I went to AHP for physio. I had a few weeks of assistance then I was told that there was nothing more they could do for me. I do use them for an unrelated stroke problem and I do find it difficult to do the exercises on my own which means I also have to pay for private physio as nothing is available
