Well organised and efficient

Could have been better organised

We arrived in good time for our first Covid vaccination in January at The Mix Stowmarket. However, in the bitterly cold and windy weather, we had to wait in a very long queue for over 40mins before eventually being allowed into a large indoor waiting area. It was full of people, some of whom were not wearing a mask either. As we'd been self-isolating since the previous February, we felt it was the first time we had been so exposed to actually catching the virus. However, all the staff [mostly volunteers] were most kind and helpful and eventually we were invited to walk to a cubicle in a large hall where we were again asked various questions and eventually a GP gave us our Pfizer vaccination and, after waiting 15mins, we were able to leave. It took over 1hr 40mins which we felt was a very long time.

Hi Mrs Quinn, I'm really sorry to read that your experience was not as good as it could have been.

We have found that some of the queue's for vaccinations have been longer than we would like. We are happy for patients to wait in their cars if they would feel more comfortable or have mobility issues. Just let staff know on the day so that they can support you. It is not always possible or safe to allow all patients to wait inside.

We do have some visitors to the site who will not be wearing masks due to being exempt and we keep a close eye on this to ensure that we can maintain safe distancing with other patients. We do understand that this might cause other patients distress.

Should you have concerns when you visit for your second vaccination please speak to staff on site who will do their best to help you or email your concerns to info@suffolkfed.org.uk

As soon as i arrived, I was made sure I was going the right way. The waiting wasn't that long. You were checked in and I waited a few minutes to go and have my vaccine. They made you feel at ease if you were nervous. Then waited 15 minutes in the area and directed to the exit.

Long walk from car to door when other been out of house since Xmas, wrong date of birth listed but soon sorted. Everything else was perfect, friendly volunteers, organised etc.

Thank you for leaving feedback. There is a little walk to this site if you have driven your own vehicle. If you have someone that can drop you at the entrance this may be easier next time. We do have limited disabled bays at this site and patients can be dropped at the entrance gate. Happy that your appointment went well.
