Had gastroscopy and colonoscopy. Excellent care and service by the Endoscopist and nurses. Felt safe and secure. Very happy that this service was provided at my local medical centre. Would certainly recommend to others. Thank you.

Medication conflicting instructions

I was diagnosed with cancer and had an operation in January 2025, I was prescribed a painkilling medication called Pregabalin by the GP, but as I had a pain in my side he said stop the Pregabalin straightaway and start on morphone liquid and tablets, very soon I started getting notceably itchy skin, I went to A & E and the nurse was astonished and the guidance was there to stop taking the morphone after a few days, I should never have stopped Pregabalin like that straightway, so A & E put me back on Pregabalin, I went back to the GP and my medications have now been changed with them, its sorted now but its concerning.

I find this surgery to be consistently excellent. From the reception staff to doctors we have been made to feel listened to and confident in our care. I have been registered at another local surgery but the difference in treatment and access has been staggering. Thank you to everyone at the grove.

Only able to book appointments on the day

I find the team there lovely. But the policy of only being able to book appointments on the day means that access is reduced for myself or my child. I can't take a whole day off work/school on the offchance I might get an appointment for non urgent issues. Government school attendance policies mean that many parents wait until school holidays to get non urgent things checked. Which might mean things are not caught early i also often avoid phoning as I find the 8am phone rush just too stressful. Booking ahead for non urgent cases would improve inclusivity

Dear patient,
Thank you for taking the time to send in your review or feedback. We do always take feedback seriously and use it to make changes where possible.
We would never expect patients to take a whole day off school or work to attend the surgery. We offer 'on the day' appointments so patients with immediate needs can be seen quickly and we tend to have fewer wasted appointments. We just ask that you call on the day for routine or urgent matters and we will try and accommodate your time preference. The surgery operates until 8pm Monday - Thursday so after school appointments are always available. There is also the option of us arranging a GP+ appointment later in the evenings and at weekends if this is your preference.
We would never ask you to call at 8am as we understand that this does not suit many of our patients. Generally, if you call between 8am and 2pm we can see or speak to you that same day.
We also have E-Consult available via our website. Once you have completed one of these we will respond to you by the next working day.

Disappointing waste of time

My 93 year old mum had blood tests and I rang for results and was told she had a phone appt booked to discuss results , we put the date in the diary I told her to expect a call and on the day my sister travelled 45 minutes to be with her to take the call. I rang at 12.15 to be told the dr had filed the bloods normal no action .
