Amazing support

One Doctor has provided amazing support to our family who were initially struggling to find the correct direction with mental health concerns. He has offered advice, provided information about local professionals who can offer support and recognised the impact mental health can have on the extended family. He has facilitated our daughter gaining knowledge and control of her condition. He has gradually allowed her the independence to manage her own medication decisions, whilst offering the necessary guidance and reassurance. We will be eternally grateful for his intervention in those early days when we were at a critical point with a very broken system for supporting youth mental health concerns. We feel very lucky to have had support from Dr Gerkin!

Having recently had a scare with a reaction to penicillin, the team of receptionists and gps demonstrated their high level of care and attentiveness. The receptionist offered reassurance when I called in panic followed quickly by a call from the GP, provided immediate advice with a follow up face to face appointment. Since then we have had a couple of calls and an appointment to monitor the symptoms and to explore providing appropriate medications. This high quality of support has been our experience at The Grove Medical Centre. They are very organised with their systems including text messages and clinics, specifically the covid vaccines.

Although the surgery is busy, we have always been able to see or speak to a doctor. The organisation for covid vaccines was professional and felt reassuring. Staff have been supportive over a range of specific health issues. Our daughter suffered a severe reaction to penicillin and staff, both reception and our GP, were attentive in responding to our panicked call. We were seen quickly then had several follow up phone calls and appointments to monitor her symptoms. In very worrying circumstances , staff offered valuable support and patience while seeking the correct type of medication.
Over the past few years, one specific Doctor has offered exceptional care with his knowledge of mental health and support for his patient and acknowledged the impact on the wider family. He facilitated major changes in her quality of life. Without his guidance and careful management of medication, she would have possibly succumbed to life under a cloud of depression. We will always be grateful for the role he has played in allowing her to take control of her health and a brighter future.

Hats off to the manager and team at this surgery. I had to sign up as a temporary patient to this surgery while on holiday in Felixstowe and the manager couldn’t have been more helpful. I phoned and was invited for an appointment two hours later and was seen almost immediately. Felixstowe people are very lucky to have such a wonderful surgery in their town. If only all surgeries were as accommodating as the grove. Thank you to you all

I have noticed a marked improvement of this surgery recently. People are very quick to moan when they are not happy with something but don’t tend to come forward when they have had a positive experience. Well done to the management team at the grove. It runs like a well oiled machine. Thank you.

It irks me that in general doctors receptionists are moaned about constantly. The staff at the grove on the front desk do a brilliant job. Every time I have spoken with them on the phone and in person they have been great.

Although I was number 49 in the telephone queue I only had to wait for 6 minutes to get through. The reception team must be working their socks off!

Although I have had to wait up to 20 mins on the telephone when calling first thing, I always get access to what I need. Find the team to be lovely and they organise the covid/flu clinics really impressively. We had to move here when Walton closed, and really cannot fault things.

Been here eight years and I find the service excellent. Even when I call later in the morning, I get an appointment if I need one.
I found sending pictures a bit of a strange request, but when I did, they still saw me face to face.
