More information would have been nice
Ophthalmology
November 10, 2017
Been attending the Eye clinic for some time now. He has had lazer treatment but it ended up not working long term. Today is the 4th appointment so far. It was only this morning that we realised it was about macular degeneration. Appointments have ran on time and we have felt that we have seen in a timely manner. The only thing we would have liked is to be given information with the letter about the condition, as it was not something we had heard of before and so we were quite worried.
Physio service seems limited
Physiotherapy
November 10, 2017
The Physio service seemed very limited and it took quite some time for them to realise that 'stretching' just is not doing anything. We finally had an X-ray, and was told it needed operating on. Well that was a year ago! We had a letter finally saying that it will happen in November.I do not have much confidence that it will go ahead as things such as this get cancelled a lot leading up to Christmas. The trouble is with my poor eye sight and now bad mobility, it causes me to be isolated and I have become more sedentary which I know means I am getting less healthy and will need services more.
Looked after me really well

I was looked after well from start to finish. The staff were sensitive to my situation and I felt I was treated as a person and not just 'another patient'. I cannot thank them enough.
Looked after me really well
Accident and emergency services
October 18, 2017
I was admitted via A&E to (cannot remember the ward). I was in for 2 weeks as it took a while to sort out the necessary adaptions I needed at home, including a stair lift. The staff were very kind and patient which is very difficult when there are some patients who were very rude in the ward.
Day surgery went well but was in 5 different beds
Outpatients

This was a very good service on the whole. My only issue was that I felt like I was on a conveyor belt and being moved a lot into different beds, 5 across the day. I had kidney stones removed and it went well but it did feel a bit impersonal due to the constant shifting about without really telling you.
Fast, efficient, helpful

Clearly directed by very friendly helpful staff, seen quickly by various different departments and given diagnosis and treatment options all within a couple of hours.
Good, staff were understanding

I had a jaw operation in July. I was extremely nervous and was told that my partner couldn't stay with me. However, once I spoke to a nurse she allowed my partner to stay with me until I went for operation. Staff were very understanding
We have felt very well looked after
Community Dental Health Team based in JPUH

Our child has been admitted today for some dental treatment under anaesthetic. We have been kept fully in the picture throughout the use of this service. We have been spoken to very calmly and respectfully about what is going to happen, and as our child sat with this, this was very important as they stayed calm too. We were giving the opportunity to ask any questions. When we spoke to the anaesthetist we were given good information about what to expect for the rest of the day and when we could offer food, but also what medication we could use to help give pain relief that they would undoubtedly need afterwards.

Waiting over 40 minutes today. Reception do not have much communication from the unit (MRI Medical admissions) about waiting times, unless they call them themselves.

Came back today after my appointment on Monday was cancelled due to equipment not working. I was impressed to get another appointment only 3 days later
