Not great continuity of care

I attended an appointment with my daughter for a hearing test. My daughter is autistic and has sensory issues which is very relevant to a hearing test yet I'm unsure if any of the staff members were aware of her diagnosis with the final consultant asking at the end of the appointment "Did you say she has a learning difficulty"
Not great medical notes are there for a reason a quick scan before you see a patient is not much to ask.

Poor communication resulting in no operation

My partner needed to have his tear ducts unblocked and for a year he was waiting after the referral from the GP. For a year he was waiting, and kept having assessments. Eventually he had his pre-op appointment. They only then realised that the medication he was on for blood thinning would put him at too higher risk to undergo the procedure, as he would have to have general anesthetic. Now we are in the position that there is nothing that can be done for it. We were just surprised by the lack of communication between the hospital and the surgery (Bridge Road Lowestoft). We also were concerned about the waste of resources this would have taken up, money and time wise.

After being admitted in an emergency, I then had gallstones removed. I did end up in for 7 days, as I had an infection along with a chest infection. The staff looked after me very well and I cannot thank them enough.

I attended three clinics as one, Glaucoma, Ophthalmology and Field Assessment. All were excellent and left me feeling confident in the outcome. I was a happy patient.

Only problem I sometimes have is if they call me to try and get me to go in at short notice, as I have to get 2 buses I cannot do this.
Just trying to get my medication sorted out. I keep reacting to things and that is making me feel down.

Weekend eye issue

I went to Outpatients on the weekend as I had another eye bleed. As they were not running the clinic they said I need to go to Optometrist, so I went to Boots. They were very thorough and recommended I go to the eye clinic. The optician wrote a letter for me to give to the specialist

I was very well looked after, my mum and partner were able to stay over night when I was induced, but not offered afterwards when I had the emergency cesarean, which would have been more helpful.

Epidural to control pain resulting from spinal stenosis. Well organised, no delays, clean and pleasant environment. Excellent staff at all levels. No improvement needed.
