On one previous visit and today well looked after by staff in the clinic. Compares very favourably with clinics in other hospitals.
Long way to phlebotomy

I have walking difficulties and have had to visit the pathology dept for a blood test, it's a very long way for me to get there from the entrance/reception and there aren't always wheelchairs available.

My sister was an inpatient for a week having hip surgery. I visited her on Ward 9. My sister was pleased with the whole experience, the surgery, the nursing and the catering.
Parking is far too expensive

Having to pay £6 for parking having just visited my sister on a ward, is just too expensive and was a surprise.
Communication could be improved.

Went to A & E having passed out. Various tests - an ECG and an X-Ray put an inpatient bracelet on me but throughout this time no one was explaining to me what was happening.

I was referred to be seen within 2 weeks for potential malignancy. A week into the two week period, I received a phone message asking me to call back and that there was a letter in the post; I tried repeatedly over a couple of days but the line was either engaged or the person was not available. I asked if I had been given an appointment, but was told I had to speak to the particular person who had phoned me. I then received an appt for one doctor on the 13th day of the 2 week period, and then, the next day, received another appt with a different doctor on the 14th day of the 2 week period. When I finally got through to clarify I was told that the first appt was cancelled, although it did not say so on the letter. When I attended for the appointment the staff and treatment were excellent. The background music in reception was awful, it would have been better not to have it. If you are worried that you have a serious condition, to have that drivel in the background was upsetting and intrusive - I suspect it is there for the benefit of the staff.

As a Day Unit patient I could not fault it at all. The whole experience - my first- was very positive.

Thankful for the support offered by the team in the Louise Hamilton Centre whilst I was needing care for breast cancer.

Prompt treatment. Calm, unhurried experience. Supportive and helpful staff. Lots of explanation when I requested it.
