Wait for bloods

I've had a three week wait to be able to get a blood test, it wasn't urgent but I was surprised.

I tried to get a blood test done at the surgery as my dietician at the hospital had requested it but I was told that the GP rejected it and that the surgery wouldn't do it but wouldn't say why. Instead I had to find a way to get to Ravenswood to have the test done there.
Caring and understanding members of staff

I was seen by a paramedic at Needham CP and can’t fault her in anyway. She took my symptoms seriously that I had been suffering with for years and even brought in a senior doctor to have a second opinion. She is the reason why I now have a diagnosis after years of doctors not knowing what was causing it. I just want to say a huge thank you to her, you don’t know how much you have changed my life for the positive.

Having been seen at the hospital twice we were still worried. [Name redacted] saw my husband and realised he may have a DVT and put him on the correct treatment and arranged an urgent scan for which we are very grateful. Thank you.

During a difficult few months I cannot thank the nursing team enough with special thanks to those who looked after me the most. All the team gave me the boost of confidence and guidance to keep my head held high thank you all :)
Visited the nurse to help with a wound

Had to visit 3 times with a wound to my leg, the nurse helped & sorted the appointments and medication that stopped the infection, such a credit to the practice. Best regards.
Forced to go to Ipswich for bloods

There is a brilliant phlebotomist at Needham Market Country Practice - but what does she do? Whenever I have been asked to made an appointment for a blood test, I am forced to take buses or a taxi to Ipswich - why can't we get bloods taken in Needham? How is it cost effective to have a phlebotomist in Needham not seeing patients? How is it good for the environment, with all these additional and unnecessary journeys?

Being registered blind the doctor comes out to take me to the consultation room. I do let reception know that I need the doctor to come out to the waiting room. The paramedic I've seen has been good and its worked well when I've seen them.

A great phone back system which has worked well and I then received a call in 15-20 minutes. The care has been good from paramedics, doctors or nurses. The only thing is that you don't get to see the same GP now but they've all been good.

It is still difficult to contact the surgery and get appointments. Appointments with doctors are more challenging to get but care is good from the people you see.
