Fair but little support.

August 14, 2017
The dementia intensive support team visited a relative following an incident. The patient's relative felt that although they came and sat with the resident nothing was gained from the visit in terms of support.

Longstanding MH problems.

June 23, 2017
I have suffered poor mental health for the past 10 years or so, including two stays in the Woodlands hospital in 2014.
This year, I visited my GP to request an emergency referral back to secondary mental health services as I had rapidly become suicidal. The access and assessment team I saw were brilliant. A thorough assessment was conducted, and as I felt I was further declining, a referral was made to the home treatment team. The HTT were not so good, with me left feeling I was time wasting. I saw different people each visit with each telling me different things regarding medication and visits.
I had bloods taken that I asked for results of on numerous occasions and was eventually told they were normal. A month later my GP contacted me to inform me my results shows diabetes and high cholesterol requiring treatment.

My husband was suicidal

GP referred him to The Wedgewood in Bury. 2 weeks before appointment available, but great service from staff at face to face level. Shame it was so short lived and ended so quick

Worse than useless

June 21, 2017
We have "done the rounds of almost every department purporting to offer mental health services locally, but this s not a name I recognise. However, our experience over the last 8 years in seeking support for our son, is that it would have been more time efficient not to have bothered, rather than be pushed from pillar to post round a lot of departments wanting to "box tick" rather therefore any meaning diagnosis, treatment or long term support. Shockingly bad, and urgently needs to be sorted. I have recently been treated for cancer by the NHS, and the excellent standards of care have only served to highlight ho appallingly bad the mental health care system is in comparison.

Referring patients is very difficult

June 20, 2017
When referring patients to the service it is very difficult. Then once they are in patients get very little support. Really not a good service.

Excellent, supportive, effective.

June 20, 2017
Had to go through an initial assessment in Ipswich, then it took a short while to be referred to the IDCT at Stowmarket, but once seen by a doctor I was given all the support I needed. Visited many times at home by the CPN and Pychologist They Liaise with my GP and I had more effective support and medication which significantly improved the quality of my life

Lack of support

May 22, 2017
AS a family we get more support from the police when my son is in crisis. Contacting the crisis team is incredibly difficult and have been told there is no=one to come out and help. When we've been to A & E we had to wait 4 hours for a crisis doctor to see him and all they were interested in was whether he was considering harming himself. We couldn't stay in A & E so took him home only for him to run off. He had thought that the doctor was suggesting he should harm himself. At the moment there is no support out of hours and it is horrendous

hard to see someone an when you do they are not great

April 24, 2017
Very difficult to get to see someone and when I did they were really not great. They were dismissive especially the psychiatrist and actually said I was wasting their time. Waiting times to do the CBT course has been 155 days and I've got worse during this time. The last person I've seen has been very good.
