Issues with medication

March 7, 2025
Its a good surgery but 4 weeks ago my medication wasn't available at the surgery so I was given a script to take else where. The problem was tracking down what I needed and I was given no advice about where to start. Luckily I drive so I could visit different pharmacies to find what I needed but they didn't have any either so one pharmacy said they could offer an alternative but that needed yet another script, which was arranged. I'm not sure why an alternative was not considered by the surgery rather than sending me away to track down what I needed.

Parking not great

February 4, 2025
Parking is not great for this surgery. It takes about 15 to 20 mins to get through on the phone, I dont find that you can usually get on the day appointment but usually within a week. Staff are kind and helpful and kind. Vaccinations are swift and good.

They have improved

February 4, 2025
For non urgent appointments you do have to wait up to a week before you can get an appointment, but if it is urgent you can get to be seen on the day if needed. The staff are good and I feel they have received good training for their roles. It is noticeable how they have improved with how they deal with issues. The refurbishment of the place is very good. The clinical staff are good. When they do flu and covid jabs they use the village hall and it is regimental and slick, really good.

Often a delay in getting cerain meds

February 4, 2025
I find that there is often a delay in getting certain medications, they say that they find it hard to get hold of some medications. Pre pandemic medications used to be accessed in Hopton but residents now have to get to Stanton and its not easy for some. There is a pharmacy delivery man and a van which Im sure is helpful to some.I find that it is not as personal as it used to be when it was in Hopton. But saying that there are a few improvements and the staff are helpful.

Failed to act on diagnosis of type 2 diabetes. Very difficult to get doctor's appointments. Dispensary is a chaotic mess.

Stanton dispensary is not great

December 9, 2024
You are supposed to phone up 5 days before your prescription is due, when you go in the prescriptions are not ready, they send us away and ask us to come back the next day, we have a 12 mile round trip so its not just round the corner for us. This all needs to be improved. The other issue is when you have to wait for your prescription you have to wait outside no matter what the weather, that can be problematic if its raining and cold.

Not a great experience with physio

December 9, 2024
About 2 months ago I was limping as a result of difficulty with my left hip, the physio at the surgery examined me and manually moved my leg and hip to see what movement I had unfortunately afterwards I was in more discomfort and my walking was affected even more, it seems whatever the physio did aggravated a problem, I informed them and they sent me for an X Ray at the hospital which confirmed that I have some arthritis changes, they gave me some exercises. It took some time to settle down again but thankfully it has settled now.

It seems quite a lot for the dispensary

December 9, 2024
They need 2 weeks notice for repeat prescriptions but I have found them to be ready on arrival, they have had some renovations and changes. I did have a concern recently when I requested on the GP's instruction that my medication be reduced from 100mg to 75mg but when I collected my medications they had not been altered to 75mg so I have now got to take them back to be changed to the updated 100mg.

Fabulous Surgery

November 7, 2024
As a patient here, who regularly comes to the surgery, i cant fault any of the staff here. The blonde receptionist who has changed roles is so welcoming and will go above and beyond to help anyone. She welcomes every person with a huge smile and is amazing with the little children in the waiting room. From nurses to doctors to dispensary staff, everyone is kind, considerate and i feel as though i am listened too. As a surgery that has gone though covid, building work and staff shortages and now more building work - i think they are marvelous and resilient and we are lucky to have them in our village.

Well below standard expected

September 1, 2024
A diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes sent to this surgery by an outside clinic was not followed up. I did not know this until I had changed to another surgery because of ongoing issues with the dispensary and inability to obtain doctor's appointments to resolve fluid retention caused by BP medication. This surgery seems to have an ongoing issues with retaining staff resulting in new staff unfamiliar with this operation making basic mistakes to the detriment of patients. These are then fobbed off with weak excuses.
