They covered all bases and made sure that my husband had all the equipment he needed and also that it was suitable for him as he has dementia.

Great OT

May 30, 2024
I had an OT visit to ensure that my house was set up in the best way for me, so that I will be safe. She covered every aspect really well and has since called me twice to check on the progress and when something hadn't been done yet she chased it up for me.

Happy with care

April 15, 2024
I'm happy with the care provided by the district nurses but although they visit when needed but you can't arrange actual appointments with them. There are times when I need to ask the surgery nurses for dressings etc so that they are available for the nurses visits at the weekend. .

Community nurses were excellent

October 3, 2023
My husband was diagnosed with cognitive issues, during the time as my husbands condition progressed the community nurses who were based both at Hartesmere hospital and Ipswich hospital would come out to the house on a regular basis to attend to his catheter, they were very helpful to us. I also found them to be easily contactable and responsive. They asked me if I was happy to be taught how to do the procedure of washing my husbands bladder out, which I did.

District nurses attending my father

February 6, 2023
Dad had an infected hip, as his hip replacement had failed. Beyond all odds he carried on for two years beyond experts thoughts. His hip broke out and released a certain amount of infection a number of times, needing to be dressed or latterly a bag being emptied, often daily. They were so kind, patient and helpful, right till the end. So many thanks. x

Professional and friendly nurses

I have had several visits by the West Suffolk district nurses and they were exceptional. Phoned to let me know when they were arriving & arrived on time, introduced themselves and gave me their contact number. Provided the treatment that I needed in a compassionate and professional way. Made sure that they understood my history and explained what they were doing and why they were doing it & ensured that I understood every step of the way. The nurses then phoned up after their visit to ensure everything had gone well.

Failure to supply vital supplies

April 9, 2021
Wrong leg bags ordered on 13/03/21, telephoned Stowhealth or Boots Pharmacy on 29/03. District Nurses contacted 30/03, alleged no response until 7/04, still awaiting leg bags and other essentials which were only ordered yesterday. Only one bag left. Totally unacceptable service.

A very good district nursing service is provided locally and works so well. They visit when they are needed and offer such good advice and care. there was an 8 week parkinsons course provided by the team with involvement from OT's, physios which was really good, an excellent service.
