Regular blood tests at home

September 12, 2018
The District nursing team come out regularly to see my mother at home as she is unable to get out the house. She has regular blood test for her Warfarin medication. They are always reliable, and care very kind and caring. We rely on them to do this as it would be much more difficult to get my mother to a service elsewhere to have this done.

Takes too long to get appointment

September 11, 2018
It is taking a week at least to book a blood test at the community hospital. I need them linked to my medication needs. I have had to go to Ipswich hospital instead as you can drop-in. It so much further to travel though.

Stowmarket District Nurses have been great

September 3, 2018
Have been brilliant with the care they have provided which has been wonderful. They have dressed my husbands leg for weeks and having the 1/2 hour appointments enabled very good treatment of the wound. They also visited at home which was great.

Unreliable district nurse

August 2, 2018
GP put a plan in place for resident to have a trial for a couple of hours without catheter, he has done the referral for DN to come to twoc the resident. DN removed the catheter in the morning at 10 am then was supposed to come to check in the afternoon or to call. DN called before her shift ended to say that they aren't coming and to call GP if resident is in retention. I said this is unacceptable so DN needs to inform GP that DN is unable to attend and resident will end up in hospital if in retention. DN discussed with GP then attended in the end as GP requested and catheter has been successfully inserted.

Time was so limited appointments

June 22, 2018
Stopped using the service as the appointment slots had reduced so much that all the work needed on my feet couldn't be done in the time. As a diabetic, foot care is important so I now go and pay privately.

Gap in Adult Social care Services

June 7, 2018
Gap in ACS referrals. For children up to 7 yrs approximately and over 18 yrs, service is ok. In between this age group, it is very hard to access service. I had all my three referrals bounced back.

Care could be better

When the Physio visited on discharge, I was seen once and then discharged. Very lacking. My DN had to reorder all the equipment as it never turned up.
