Still waiting

October 19, 2016
I receieved a text message from the surgery in Sept telling me they would be in touch soon to arrange a flu jab. It's now October and I am still waiting. Clinically it's a good practice but the administration is very poor.

Telephone glitch

August 17, 2016
I was unwell over a weekend and telephoned the surgery on Monday morning to make an appointment. My call wasn't answered so I got up, washed, dressed and drove to the surgery with the call still ringing.
I approached reception (where there was no audible telephone ringing though my phone showed the call as still connected and I was still getting the recorded message. I checked that I was using the correct number with the receptionist and when she said I was I asked why I hadn't been answered for 52 minutes. Her response was to ask which option I had chosen and (probably unhelpfully on reflection) I asked which of the options they ignored for 52 minutes.
I pointed out that there appeared to be a difficulty with their 'phone system and asked that they check it and let me know what they had found. Two and a bit weeks now and no word........ This is a real shame as the clinicians are excellent but back office very poor.

Social prescribing

April 8, 2016
I have heard about social prescribing and would like to ask you to consider it because of the huge benefits it can offer.

waiting times are increasing

March 30, 2016
Waiting times to see your own doctor are increasing-2 weeks sometimes. This means that older people are losing the relationship with their doctors sometimes.

Baby had severe diarrhoea

March 18, 2016
My 9 and half month of son has had diarrhoea for over 36 hours. He was exploding through nappies and 2 layers of clothing and this was happening roughly 9 times since Wednesday evening.
The GP did feel his tummy said it was fine and then told me how the gastrointestinal bug was going around etc. He then said "I am not recommending this but if you withheld food and milk for 24 hours it will clear up faster but he will be hungry "?! He is only 9 and half months he still needs milk. He then said it's up to me what I want to give him if I continue with milk or not. I said he can't go without his milk. He then said to just feed as normal and top up with more liquids whatever those liquids may be and suggested Ribena? !
The pharmacist at Sainsbury was more helpful she offered suggestions on food and these sachets to dissolve on his water etc. But she said and the NHS website to go to a GP after 6 runny poos.
He was pale and lethargic yesterday. Been irritable for days. I told the GP all of these and all he tells me is to withhold food and milk in a roundabout way of not actually suggesting it as I guess he was covering himself. He made a rude comment about my son's size saying how he has reserves in him if I lessened the milk amount and made a joke about how much laundry I must have. Not exactly the experience I needed or wanted after being up all night with a poorly baby who pooped through two lots of clothing and 2 grobags.
Everyone else from this surgery though has been helpful and lovely. But this particular GP was most unhelpful and rude.
