Unsympathetic staff

Following emergency treatment at the hospital I had no means of getting home. I had no money on me but staff said I should get a taxi even though I had recently been assaulted and they knew my history. On another occasion I had to walk back rather than using a taxi. considering the situation this was very upsetting.

My daughter had to have a MRI scan and she had a bit of a 'meltdown' prior to the scan. The staff talked to her like an adult-they weren't patronising-they were fab. They calmed her down so the scan could be done. Couldn't ask for more!

There was no delay and the staff were friendly and explained things to me. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. I never give 5 out of 5 though.

I was in this hospital 4 months ago and they discovered I was having a stroke before I really knew I was ill. Everything was first class and I wouldn't have wanted to have been anywhere else in the world at that time. Today I have been to the pain clinic and to pathology and again everything was excellent.

The consultation itself was very well conducted and the attitude was great. Staff were reassuring and everywhere was beautifully clean. The downside was that I had to see 3 different sets of people and there were delays at each which cumulatively added up to a very long wait which was a shame.

Staff are kind and caring & very respectful. In fact they are superb considering the big workload and pressure that they are under. The Ward is always clean, staff kind and (really!) the food is nice too.

I was nervous about the procedure but I was put at my ease and reassured. It was a very good overall experience.

We have been using the WSH for more than 15 years. Today we were visiting and the Ward seemed to be ticking along very nicely and the staff were welcoming, pleasant and smiling. Very good atmosphere.

It would have been 5 stars but there have been 2 issues. 1) inconsistent or lack of information. This has been from the doctors not nurse. 2) My wife is woken during the night for bloods to be taken. Each night she asks for the bloods to be taken from the 'line' which is in her arm. Each night they decline and try to take blood from her other arm which is not in good shape. After considerable time and discomfort they eventually take the blood from the installed link-which is what she asks for to begin with!

I had my first blood test at the hospital. The staff were very friendly and professional. I'm not good with blood but they took my sample quickly, efficiently and I really didn't feel it. No discomfort s a major plus!!!
