Treatment received has been good

Overall the treatment received at West Suffolk Hospital has been good. However, when I had my hip x-rayed following a hip replacement they misdiagnosed the problem I was having and I was in pain for 9-10 months.

I had an ear operation at the hospital in ENT which went well but on release I needed regular blood tests due to taking warfarin. My surgery couldn't fit me in so I went to West Suffolk Hospital and was seen really quickly. They also went back to my surgery to say I should've been seen as a post surgery patient at the surgery.

Went in to hospital to have an operation on my ear. I had a local anaesthetic which was a bit scary. The staff though were really great and explained everything so I knew what noises etc to expect and didn't worry. I was very impressed by them.

The department is usually quite busy but staff are normally very good. They tend to monitor my condition and medication and I have no complaints.

I was referred to West Suffolk Hospital by my GP and was seen very quickly. I was then referred on to Papworth with in 7 days for a pacemaker to be fitted. I'm very happy with how it all went and how I was cared for by all staff.

I was admitted on to the ward for 2 days and overall my stay was good. My family were kept informed about what was happening and before being discharged everything was discussed with me and I.

We called 999, the ambulance arrived quickly, I was admitted straight away, was assessed and stayed for only 5-6 hours. All tests were done quickly and everything was explained fully. I was then admitted on to a ward for further treatment. All good.

My doctor was concerned about a mark on my skin so referred me to hospital. I was seen by dermatology quickly. In between seeing the consultant and having an appointment confirmed (a few days later) the lesion erupted just before xmas. After speaking to the consultant I went straight in to see him and was operated on later that day. The whole department was great during my treatment and stay in hospital.

My hearing aid broke while I was on holiday abroad. The audiology department gave me a replacement part straight away - Very helpful.
