Eye clinic great
November 27, 2023
The eye clinic is great and staff are wonderful and very supportive. The most difficult aspect is getting to and from the hospital for appointments now I don't drive and I need to take my husband in for his appointments as his carer.
Great care
Accident and emergency services
November 27, 2023
Family called the ambulance for me and I was taken to hospital and in to A&E initially and then on to the ward for a short stay. I received great care in both departments and couldn't fault any aspect of it. I was given good explanations and was kept well informed throughout.
A bit confused
Orthopaedics
November 27, 2023
I have been referred to orthopaedics to have my knees done. I received the first appointment letter to see the consultant at 3.00pm but then I received a second letter saying the appointment would be at 3.30pm. I called the secretary who said they were seperate appointments, one for each knee rather than just one.
Gluten free not catered for
November 27, 2023
It may be different now but when I had a hospital stay 2 years ago they did not have anything gluten free to offer and I ended up having to get food from the WHSmiths downstairs. The next time I stayed I took my own food in so it wasn't so difficult.
Regular reviews
Dermatology
November 27, 2023
My father has regular 6 monthly reviews with dermatology and they offer good reassurance and support at all times.
Chaos trying to see psych liaison team
Accident and emergency services
November 20, 2023
Tried numerous occasions to see psych liaison team via an and e which is not the appropriate setting when mentally unwell. Furthermore some security staff are not trained in de-escalation and seem to make things worse in my opinion
Lack of information
November 13, 2023
The main issue I have is when staff are not forth coming with simple information such as where toilets are, it makes being in the hospital more difficult than it needs to be. Staff just aren't overly helpful.
Parkinsons support good
November 13, 2023
The support received from the specialist parkinsons nurse has been great. I'm able to call whenever I need advice and they also call me every three months in addition to the consultant calling.
Not a great maternity experience
Maternity
November 2, 2023
I found there was limited support. I was not aware that there was a reflections service to help with difficult births and the breast feeding support and information about what support is available more widely was limited. I had an induction followed by an emergency c section and my partner was sent home very soon after the birth because he was told he was a risk even though we were in a private side room so I didn't have the best of experiences on the ward.
Good experience
Maternity
October 17, 2023
Even though I had wanted and expected a home birth the plan needed to change. I kept the midwives informed of what was happening but was then asked to go in to hospital because they were short of staff. The birth was fine and the staff were good and they supported me when I wanted to get back home as early as I could. After the birth I do feel that the support rather drops away. On the lead up to it there is lots of support and information but after not so much.
