The department and staff have been very good but getting to the hospital so early when you rely on other people and live further away is difficult but the appointments don't last long which helps.

Staff are all very friendly and professional but you can have a laugh with them which is great when undergoing the investigations. I was prepped early and all done within an hour. It's been brilliant as I was given good information before the appointment and the support provided was excellent, the lady I spoke to on the phone was so lovely. I really can't fault the department, they have made sure I had transport arranged for going home as I needed to be sedated.

I'm at the investigation stage at the moment. The appointment was rescheduled to combine investigations which was helpful. It's been good to get transport help. I was a bit concerned about fasting for the endoscopy with my diabetes. The information leaflet that I was given could be improved if there were actual examples of what you can eat. Other than that the appointments been on time and the friendly staff have given a good idea about how long the wait will be.

6 times now my appointment have been cancelled each time a few weeks of the actual date.

I do not find that the pain clinic is very useful and they can't really offer anything helpful but may be that's because of my specific issues.

Fantastic and caring staff

Pre-admission

Wonderful staff consistently going above and beyond. My own experience in pre admission unit was fantastic. The nurse not only took me through all the necessary questions but also did ecg and bloods herself. I also had brilliant care in the day surgery unit for a gynae procedure. Lovely nurses, surgeon and anaesthetist. My husband has had excellent care in audiology and my sister in dermatology. The staff have all been caring and kind and efficient. We moved from out of area and have been so impressed. The hospital is old and crowded but has a lovely atmosphere. Thank you!

I have a few different consultants but no one seems to take the lead. It's been suggested that I need to have an MRI but nothing has been arranged and I find it frustrating that things aren't moving forward.

Although helpful at times when you are dealing with on going pain the suggestions at times are a bit limited but the staff are friendly.
