Helpful staff

The staff have been helpful trying to arrange my mammogram, I've been really impressed. I've also needed bloods to be done at the hospital and they've always been done well and quickly.

I've been waiting for a hernia operation since January. Originally I was sent to the BMI hospital in Bury but now I've been moved to the Colchester waiting list. Other than being on the list there has been no contact or support offered.

I've been trying to get through to urology for some time to discuss an operation but each time I try no one answers or the message says someone is on holiday. I've left messages but no one ever returns the call. Normally it's so good but this is becoming frustrating and although it's only a small thing messages should be responded to especially if it says leave a message.

I received truly amazing care and treatment following a fall at home in the middle of the night. A family member took me in to A&E when I hit my head and had a deep cut. We arrived at tabout 3am had to wait a little before being triaged but all the tests, scans and bloods were all done quickly and every member of staff I had contact with was lovely. It was a busy night and staff remained calm and polite at all times. An amazing doctor ensured that I was seen before they were due to leave for the night. He was so friendly and did a great job stitching me up. I was very grateful for all the care given that night, wonderful treatment. By 9am we were on our way home which was great.

I attend the Newmarket Hospital community glaucoma clinic and it works really well and easy to attend. I attend every 6 months roughly and I've been really pleased that these have been taking place. Staff are great and it's a great service to have more locally.

I have regular screening and tests done at the hospital and staff are always amazing and lovely when they are carrying out quite embarassing procedures.

The hospital is very good and I prefer to go to the hospital for treatment if at all possible. I did have a 5 hour wait in A&E although the actual care was very good.

From start to finish the standard of care was shocking, mistake after mistake which caused me a long a prolonged stay .
Good explanations

I've not had to wait long for appointments and the staff are always caring and very good offering good explanations. I've been very happy with the care provided throughout covid.
Physio is lacking

I injured my achilles and was referred to the hospital for physio but 2 1/2 yrs later after the initial injury and being treated for 9 months I was told that I was too old to have it operated on due to my age even though it was really impacting on my ability to get around. Because I was given no other option I had to go private and find the money needed. The operation has been sucessful but I was told that I wouldn't be able to have the physio needed as it would be considered queue jumping so I've had to pay for that too.
