Referred by pharmacist and then my doctor to the West Suffolk Hospital for minor surgery, all with 3-4 weeks I had a rodent cancer removed, all very caring and efficient treatment.
Slow referral

I was referred to the hospital by my GP but I've been waiting more than 36 weeks now and heard nothing about an appointment or when it is likely to be.

I have a consultation with my cardiac consultant coming up and it's still being done by phone when I feel that they could see me every now and then. Not every appointment needs to be face to face but I strongly believe they should still see you.

I was seen in A&E very quickly, they addressed all the issues I had and I was then admitted. The staff were good but when I was discharged it was confusing as staff gave differing views on what would happen when but that was the only slight issue.

Staff during all my recent visits to the hospital have all been great, they are caring and considerate and it's a very good hospital overall.

I had bowel cancer surgery in 2019 and the care was great. The surgery was delayed due to covid but did take place in the end. I've now had a CT scan to check everything but I'm still waiting for the colonoscopy. I was due to have it in January and then again in March but both were cancelled and I'm now unsure when it is likely to be done as no date has been given this time. The specialist nurse is staying in touch which is nice.

I stayed in hospital for a week recently being treated for possible sepsis and the care and treatment was excellent. They treated me like royalty and I wanted for nothing.

I have 3 monthly face to face check ups with cardiology and they are very good. I can also call at any point to discuss any concerns or issues that I have, an amazing team.
Midwives really supportive

The maternity staff did a really good job. I had regular scans and blood tests done by the hospital team and they were always great. My community midwife was also really good, very supportive and the care after the birth was very good as they were incredibly supportive.

I had a 2 week stay on a ward and the staff were great, caring and friendly and I almost enjoyed being there. The food is generally very good and the choices are good too. I couldn't have asked for more during my time there.
