A positive experience

Our experience of West Suffolk was a very positive one. We get very well looked after from the start to the end of our visit. We first started off at the labour suite where our midwife was great, 5 star service!

We spent a day on F11 which wasn't as good of service but it was busy so we kind of expected that. We then had to go rainbow ward 2 days later for jaundice, again the service was great, they even let me stay with my wife overnight.

There were times we thought it could be better, but you get that with everything, we have total respect for staff and eased our minds throughout, overall we were and are very happy with the services.

Failed Safe Transport

A regular user from dialysis at WSH, returned in a taxi to Cedrus House. The driver helped her out of the car and left without informing us she had arrived. She could not access the home as no knowledge of the door code. A carer who went past the front door, noticed her hanging at the door and let her in She was very cold and shaking as she was very scared. She declined her evening meal due to her distress and was sick. I contacted WSH for a complaint.

Poor Dangerous Discharge

January 8, 2018
Resident was discharged to Hartismere place with no discharge letter. An incorrect list of medication to take (which we asked for as nothing sent with the person). High volume of C.D Medication with contradicting instruction. Next day still not able to establish what his medication regime was and what he had been in the hospital for.

This is a great hospital - I feel well looked after. Coming here is a choice and I think this is the pick. Parking is now ok.

Lots of waiting around

There is a lot of waiting around. Good 30 mins to get help to the loo once. Had to wait a long time for prescription meds on discharge.

Car parking prices are a rip off.

Car parking prices are a rip off. I will pay £10 today. This was caused by delay in A&E which I couldn't do anything about.

Staff really understood how I was feeling.

Staff really understood how I was feeling (My past experiences) they had a good understanding of my pain threshold and were sensitive to it. A bit of a wait but thats understandable.
