Wonderful hospital
May 11, 2018
A wonderful hospital, my husband ha been treated here for skin cancer a number of time and I really can't fault the care provided by staff on each visit. Excellent.
Great to have MRI on a Sunday
May 10, 2018
Even over the period when they were under pressure and nearly closed the care wasn't affected. I've had an MRI appointment on a Sunday which was excellent and appointments come through well. Nothing really needs improving.
Departments have all been good
Stroke services

Very good. Various departments that I've visited have all been good. Quick appointment times and treatment on the TIA ward was excellent. I was well cared for during my day there for assessments.
Very poor patient care
G9
May 10, 2018
Patient discharged in February. In March, patient found to have cannula in left arm. I phoned the ward but got no reply. I phoned the switchboard, asked for matron and I was put through to (name removed) in training department. She took a message to G9. Eventually a man, (name removed) phoned and made various excuses as to why cannula was left - no one told him, charts not filled in etc. etc. I asked what he wanted me to do. He said "find someone to take it out".
Care in A&E very good
Accident and emergency services

Care in A&E was very good. The staff explained things well said to go back if I got worse.
Professional staff but food could be better.
Endoscopy
May 3, 2018
Quality of food - It is customary (I understand) to offer tea and sandwiches (or buscuits) following a sigmoidoscopy. I am wheat intolerant and no wheat or gluten free food was available on the unit. Phone call revealed the kitchen was busy! Of course they were - it was 6 pm! I had been starved since lunch time the previous day! This is my only complaint - but it had happened to me before in the day hospital, in June 2017. Staff were professional, polite and helpful.
Couldn't have been better on the day
Ear Nose and Throat
May 2, 2018
One of my hearing aids (NHS) needed a minor repair. I found it difficult to see where/when I might get a repair as there was contradictory information online, so I called the audiology dept at West Suffolk Hospital. I was told that I could drop in during normal business hours and wait-which is fine but wasn't what I understood the WSH website to be telling me. Anyway, I attended this morning and the receptionist carried out the repai very efficiently. In fact, it couldn't have gone better on the day.
Limited knowledge and not enough allergists
April 26, 2018
The hospital doesn't have enough allergists and the knowledge of some staff on specific conditions, is quite limited. This then means that I have to travel to other hospitals for simple procedures, which is added stress.
Using seminars to explain was very well
April 26, 2018
The hospital is now doing seminars to explain what to expect before, during and after a knee operation, which was very good. the seminar took place on a Saturday and answered all the questions I had.
