Great service, old system preferred.
Nephrology

Previously a skin clinic was attached to the dialysis unit where my husband received treatment but at WSH we had to go back to the GP for a referral to the clinic. It would have been better if it was linked to the dialysis unit as it's related to the treatment.
Good Care, too much repetition
November 6, 2017
Went in one night and gave personal data a number of times; nothing was passed to the different people I saw so I had to repeat it each time I went somewhere new. However care provided was good.
Nice experience at Eye Clinic
Ophthalmology

Eye clinic is very good, very efficient. I've had 2 cataracts done this year; the care and treatment has been very good at the hospital
Helpful but static experience

Polite enough but not very friendly manner. Always appear slightly standoffish and unhepful and a bit unfriendly. Generally are helpful but it seemed like talk and go
Communication issues

As a patient of the hospital a letter was given to my wife. We were told not to open it and to give it to the consultant at Addenbrookes. When we went for our appointment the next day my wife was told she couldn't have the original reason for our visit treated as a scan had picked up another separate problem. Why did NHS staff not explain that they had found another problem?
Quality care, could do with better food.

Good care on the wards; great nurses. Food was bad. Very efficient and enjoyed as much as you can. Very good at giving out information. Really like the outreach clinic at the Sudbury Health centre too.
Great care with parking difficulties

Car parking is very difficult Combining appointments for patients so that everything can be sorted in one visit would be better. The care and treatment provided is very good.
Discharging needs improvement
October 31, 2017
A better discharge process that considers all the aspects of a person's care needed. Husband was being discharged. Staff were fully aware we had no transport so were arranging transport home. Whe finally he could be discharged they called to say we needed to pick him up as he would be unable to go home in the ambulance. The family then had to try to arrange for someone to pick him up later in the evening. Nothing had changed, staff knew everything that was neede for days before his discharge but didn't think the implications through, so at the last minute they decided he couldn't be taken home as planned. Care during stay in hospital was very good. Shame about the discharge
Lack of Support
October 31, 2017
Not well supported when my husband was unwell. Only down to family that he got a place in a hospice. Ward was noisy and he was frequently moved.
Excellent care and all staff were brilliant
Accident and emergency services

Attention in A & E was immediate and very caring by each member of the team until my discharge. I have nothing but praise for every aspect of our healthcare from porters to consultant
