Bungay Medical Practice

I’ve been a patient at Bungay Medical Centre for around two years now, and I honestly can’t speak highly enough of the care I’ve received during that time.

Booking appointments has always been straightforward—whether it’s something urgent on the day or just a routine check-up, I’ve never had any issues. The whole team is so lovely—friendly, kind, and genuinely understanding. Every doctor I’ve seen has taken the time to really listen and always gone above and beyond to help.

More recently, my partner, our six-month-old baby, and I have all registered with a Doctor, and she’s been absolutely brilliant. We’ve had several appointments about our little one’s skin, and she has been amazing—so thorough, caring, and just really reassuring, especially as new parents.

I honestly feel so grateful to have such a supportive and compassionate team looking after our family’s health. Bungay Medical Centre has been fantastic for us, and I’d wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone. The staff are just lovely.

Our son contacted the service while on holiday, with a very bad sore throat. Not registered there but given a same day appt. Diagnosed as quinsy, which could have developed extremely serious complications without this prompt treatment, particularly as he was going abroad the next day. We are very grateful to the practice for providing a same day doctors appointment and the antiobiotic treatment prescribed.

Suggestion: It took 18 days from my request to getting the tablets. If possible issue meds on a 56 day cycle instead of 28. This will reduce the workload for you, me and in particular for Boots Bungay who are under extreme pressure. Thanks.

I have been with the practice for just over a year, and at every point of contact I have received nothing but politeness, professionalism, friendliness and a caring attitude. The GP was exceptional, arranging for blood tests and a ECG test and a follow up appointment, I felt listened to, respected and care about. Thank you

I had a cortizone injection in my hip, I was asked to make another appointment to come back in two weeks time but they could not fit me in until 3 weeks.

I find that the telephone appointments work well for me, it fits into my working day perfectly. I speak very highly of them. The last appointment time was to the minute, the prescription is put out for me and it all works very well.

Bad knee pain and swelling came on just over a week ago for no apparent reason. Phoned on Monday 3rd to try and see a Dr or a nurse. Told can't see either but can have a phone call on Wednesday 5th from a physio. Wednesday I get a call to say no physio available so no call today but can have one next week or if I want one to look at my knee it will be 17th in Beccles. I have no idea if it is a mild but painful condition that will clear up on it's own using aspirin and volterol or if it's a sign of anything more serious that needs further treatment. Waiting two weeks to get anyone to look at it for even two minutes is a very poor level of service. My dog get better from the Vet. It's a pity they can't see me either.

I have always had excellent service from this practice with regards to being seen quickly for myself or my children. I was particularly impressed with the online service. I filled out a simple form last night and by 8am this morning I had a text with an appointment in a few days time. No waiting on the phone in a queue. Really easy and great service.

I think they do well at this surgery, far better than at my last surgery which was not in this county. I find that they follow up well after an appointment and they have refered me over to the physio team which went well for me. I think the GP's are very good and the nurse and admin staff all are very good attitude. The onsite pharmacy have made a couple of hiccups but on the whole I feel very pleased to be with them.

I find that you cannot get to see the doctor as easily as you used to be able to, but I don't suppose it will ever be like it used to be. I remember when we used to have a family doctor and they used to know us well but you do not get that kind of consistency anymore and I think communication could be better from the surgery with things like getting medication reviews.
