I was frustrated

April 23, 2024
My regular eye drops were changed recently, I was told it was the same type of drop but a different manufacturer. I had a bad reaction to the different eye drop but the frustrating thing was the nurse practitioner did not recognise the issue.

Dear Patient,
Please accept my sincerest apologies for the change in eyedrops and the fact that this was not picked up prior to you using them. Please be assured that I have passed your feedback onto the nursing team and will ensure that they notice the change in manufacturer going forward and make the patients aware.
Kind regards, Katie (Practice Operations Manager)

Appointments ok to get

I feel let down as after I was prescribed medication for one course of treatment, which worked, but I was then told to purchase the medication myself but it was expensive. Staff do put you at ease and they are friendly.

More difficult

Its more difficult to get appointments now and they tend to want to do phone calls instead.

Thank you for your feedback. Due to the ever increasing demand for GP appointments we try, as a surgery to ensure all patients are supported quickly and were possible over the telephone. We have found that this can be more convenient for a lot of our patients. However, we are aware some medical issues do require face to face appointments and these will be booked when required.

Ask My GP works well

December 6, 2023
I've had no issues getting appointments when using ask my GP and have been invited in for an appointment in two weeks time but I was happy with that timeframe as it wasn't urgent. I received the call back quickly which made sure there was no urgency to be seen. I find that staff explain issues well and I really can't fault the surgery.

Lack of continuity

December 1, 2023
I use ask my gp or call for appointments but it isn't easy to get an appointment with a doctor. The delays have meant that I didn't get a severe infection treated quickly enough and it's had a longer term impact. The problems I've had are around having to speak for another member of the family. Although all the permissions are in place it depends who you speak to for them to accept that so it can mean that you don't get help until late in the day or next. Having better continuity would help so that staff are aware of everything that has happened. It took 8 weeks to get a prescription sorted and I don't feel that the surgery has been very supportive when an issue arose. In the end the hospital sorted it all out. I just feel that things deteriorate while you're waiting so much so that the issue takes longer to improve.

Difficult

December 1, 2023
I haven't seen a doctor in over a year and have been given inaccurate test results but the nurses are good when you see them. I've used Ask My GP and not had a response from it even though I was told I would get a call later, then I was told it was postponed and didn't actually happen until the next day. This time I did the Ask My GP and then spoke to a nurse and have now been given an appointment with them. I knew I needed to be seen yesterday but there was nothing available. I really don't like the system in place and it would be so much easier if you were told when to expect the call rather than having to wait around for the call when you're at work.

Appointments good to get

December 1, 2023
I've had no issues as appointments are good to get. I've had a mix of call backs and in person appointments with doctors and I haven't felt there's been any pressure to be online as reception are happy to deal with issues by phone.

Appointment today

December 1, 2023
I called yesterday but there were no appointments available and I was told to go on to Ask My GP but I don't have access to the internet and I was feeling too bad to argue the point with the staff member. I called again this morning and have been given an appointment with a doctor so I'm happy.

Very good surgery

December 1, 2023
It's straightforward to get appointments and staff are friendly and accomodating. Ask my gp seems to work well and I've had quick responses and call backs which have resulted in appointments with a GP. I've found the the doctors very supportive too.
