A good surgery

I have no issues with my surgery, I can get an appointment when I need one, the staff are pretty good, the parking facilities are great which helps. On another note I do think the Hartismere hospital next door could be utilised better.

The doctor I have is marvellous, I get the consistency of the same GP, I am blessed to have this surgery, they are very good here. I have a good family but at my age it is good to know that you have a good surgery to get all of your medications from which all works fine for me.

The staff are very good at the surgery and the dispensary, I give 2 days notice for repeat prescriptions and it works very well, I am always able to get my medications on time. The staff at the surgery are also very good. I experienced a Heart attack and I do feel cared for by the staff both medical and reception ladies. I find it quite easy to get an appointment if I need one.

Not been that impressed more recently. I was actually told by a GP they wouldn't refer me for an xray because of my age. I couldn't believe that was the only reason I couldn't be referred.
Very good female locum

It's difficult to see a GP but recently I got to see a very good female locum. The problem has been getting an underlying issue that is stopping me having an operation sorted as I was told the issue had been addressed but then I was taken off my medication and of course the issue came back, stopping my operation again.

It's not so easy to speak to your own GP now than it used to be and that can be worrying at times but the staff are good when you speak to them.

I find that the online system works very well and has allowed me to arrange appointments, and the App itself is easy to use too. The access to the doctors has been good whenever we've needed an appointment and the staff have been great. It's much better than our previous surgery.

Its a good surgery but there are only two GPs so I am concerned about the future especially with new houses being built. There is an emphasis on seeing other members of the team like the paramedic or a nurse and I spoke to the pharmacist to discuss my medication issues which worked well.
Pre bookable more limited

It is more difficult to get appointments now and the pre bookable appointments are more limited too. Online appointments were available in three weeks time when I looked. The phones are busy and I don't particularly like the move towards online access. I've had issues with call backs as I don't use my mobile much and they always use that rather than my landline as I've asked.
No issues at all

Staff are all friendly and I've had no issues getting call backs, I've only had to wait half an hour. I do hear other people saying they've experienced issues but for me it's been fine. My teenager called the surgery for the first time and the staff were great at supporting them through the process. Booking online is also easy to do and a simple process. Calling at 8.30 for a child can be logistically difficult as you don't know if you need to keep them off school or not as you're not sure if they'll be given an appointment the same day or if they'll even want to see them.
