Phones are busy
December 2, 2022
Conversations with the receptionist and then the doctor is time-consuming and it's no wonder the phones are busier now. I do really like the surgery and they are very good but I would prefer it if I could just book an appointment with a doctor.
Good

The surgery have been good and they are doing all they can. They referred me on for a scan after speaking to a doctor and then having an appointment the next day. I was glad to see a GP as the original diagnosis by phone turned out to be incorrect.
A great surgery

Can have appointments whenever they are needed and support online or by phone and when you see a GP is very good. I'm not clear on the complaints process, in the past I didn't complain but do wonder whether I should've regarding a locum I saw. I have been referred quickly for a scan which was good.
A good surgery

It is a good surgery and care is good once you get to see someone face to face but there is a feeling that they would rather not see you if at all possible. There are circumstances that need you to be seen in person and it should be easier to do.
Told to go to A&E
July 26, 2022
My father had a fall at home and hit his head which resulted in a gash that we thought needed to be dressed. After calling the surgery I was told to take him to A&E but this seemed unnecessary but they wouldn't see him. In the end we treated it at home as Dad wouldn't go to A&E. It would've been better if they'd steristripped it.
staff

I'm happier to see some members of staff over others but generally most are good. I don't particularly like the system in place which means you don't get an appointment in person with a GP if you think you need one. The nurses and receptionists are all very good.
Barriers to appointments
July 26, 2022
I feel that there are barriers to getitng appointments with a GP. The nurses are always available to see but I don't understand why it's not the same with the GPs. The nurses are really good and will liaise with the doctor if needed. Living miles away from the surgery and not having a mobile or online access I find it difficult getting my medication on a monthly basis. It means I have to drive to the surgery to drop the prescription off and then come back to pick it up, if it's not ready I then have to do another trip which considering the price of fuel is a real concern.
Difficult to see a doctor
July 26, 2022
I still find it is difficult to see a doctor and most contact is by phone. When it is so difficult it puts you off trying as you have to go through different steps just to get to talk to someone. It feels like you're being fobbed off. Getting my prescriptions each month is frustrating too and it all seems unnecessary, there would be less for them to do if it was done every two or three months
Good but...
July 26, 2022
The surgery is good and they are facing difficult circumstances but at times things aren't done as well as they could be. I recently had tests done but I haven't been called with the result. I assume no news is good news but may be I've just been forgotten.
The care is good
July 26, 2022
I'm happy with the surgery as appointments are available when needed and the care is good. I'm a little unclear about what to do when I've had tests done as I don't know if I'll be contacted or I need to call the surgery. This really should be covered by the clinician when they are discussing the tests. The receptionists are lovely, so helpful and friendly.
